I’m from PA and found a dealer finally willing to negotiate. It’s roughly 600 miles/9 hours away and I checked flights but still about $300 to get there. The dealer is willing to do a trailer transport for $650. The deal is about 15% off MSRP on a fully loaded Bullitt with recaros using the 0% for 84. I’m happy.

Is there anything I should be concerned with? Buying a car sight unseen is scary but it only has 10 miles. Is there anything I should ask? Or request? Plastic wrap the car? It comes with a bullitt car cover.

thanks!

Maybe consider renting a small car with local drop off. Yeah, it’s a nine hour drive there but it will be an amazing 600 miles driving home.

Whatever you do, my recommendation is DO NOT buy the car sight unseen. And by that I mean exactly what you're doing...BUT don't give any deposits. Your airplane ticket should be enough of a 'deposit' to show seriousness. That way, if anything is wrong with the car, you just don't proceed with the sale. Here's what I recommend, and I have plenty of experience (ha ha). First, tell dealer to NOT touch the car until you get there. You want to start the car from a cold soak, listen to noises, and most importantly, drive the car when the engine is still cold (after a few minutes to warm it up). Be gentle, but do a lot of cold shifting, to make sure the synchros are not messed up, like happened with my last Vette (with a Tremec tranny. Car had 8 miles when I bought it, but was warm, and didn't notice the defect until I was home the next morning). The tranny is obviously a bit notchy when cold, but that's perfectly fine. Once fully warmed up, it should shift like butter. I'd also make sure the engine doesn't have rare noises, and/or a loud 'tick'. By listening to many videos, I know what to expect, and you probably too. Some engines are noisier than others, but there's a limit to that. Also check under the front lip for damage, and under the rear too, although that's rare. Under the sides too, since some stupid techs lift the cars at the wrong spots, and bend the chassis seams. Good luck.

By the way, I'm on the same boat. But I'm having worse luck (as expected. Ha ha). This car has 66 freaking miles, and I don't like it at all on a manual car. Another with 8 miles had bumper drilled, which is an immediate deal-breaker to me, so I ran of options. That 66-mile car is also damaged on the door sills, and they want a lot more money that other deals, and said that Ford requires a minimum of $5K to finance (they're forcing me to finance or price goes up $1,500). Sometimes I hate myself, but can't change that (unfortunately. Ha ha). I don't want a damaged 'new' car, nor pay more than I know is fair, so we'll see what happens. I soured on those cars, so probably prefer to keep my truck. Will search 2020s and see if I can find a good deal, even for more money. Not going to buy a manual car with that many miles, nor with ugly scuff damage everywhere.

If you’re going to do it and go through it sight unseen, I would definitely request a total video walk around and close up images from every side and every angle of the car inside and out. Once that car is put onto any transport - the Dealership is no longer liable or responsible for ANY damages that occur to the vehicle from the point it’s loaded and during transport.

So if you do not have any video proof or pic proof of that entire car’s condition BEFORE it’s loaded for transport, you’re gonna be shit outta luck if it arrives with “unseen” damages. Sure the transporter most likely has insurance, but good luck trying to get fair resolution.

Be sure as to what you are signing and what (if any) rights you are signing away (again relating to vehcile condition, final sale value, purchase value, etc).

If you have spoke to the Salesman, make sure you get EVERYTHING in writing, period. Tell him or her you want things documented in email... because if you don’t, it’s only your word against theirs.

Always be ready for the “whammy”, make sure there’s no hidden fees and trust no one,

Just wanted to comment that transporters are typically EXTREMELY THOROUGH with vehicle condition, since they'd be liable for any damage after leaving the dealership... BUT the problem is you're not going to find that out until you receive the car, and seeing the condition report. Too late. Therefore, my suggestion for those hell bent on doing a sight-unseen purchase, is to offer to pay a forum member with an identical car, to thoroughly check it out for you, and take it for a test-drive to make sure everything is as it should be. I've done that a couple of times, and the last paid off big time; the guy found out that the 'perfect Ferrari' was far from that (it was for my brother). And he didn't even charged me (nice guy). So no, don't assume high-end dealers are any better :D. Hope this helps.

Just rent a cheap car and drive there. I bought one from 1500 miles away and paid 1200 for open shipping. I asked for some photos and bought sight unseen, and it was even a gently used one.

Well guys, it arrived today. And couldn’t be happier. Obviously trailered for 9 hours through rain is gonna make a messy car but this is amazing. Before it’s first wash....

I’ll update the registry and post more pics when I can properly detail her

Congrats. Finally washed mine today for the first time, but it wasn't the pleasant experience I was expecting. Ha ha. I knew there was some damage, since a truck spreading gravel pulled right in front of me driving the car home. Slowed down quite a bit, but the noise the barrage of pebbles hitting my car was sickening. Then I had a plywood platform for my truck leaning in my garage (quite heavy, and with super hard rough deck paint), and a freaking gust tipped it over and it fell on my car today :facepalm:. Geez. But the good news is the damage was much less than I expected, but will need to touch-up a couple of chips. Need to find DHG paint. Will call a local dealer tomorrow. The stupid platform hit the right mirror hard, folded it while scratching the crap out of it, but it took the brunt of the impact in stride, and apparently didn't bend or break anything. Door looks good too, but will inspect it carefully tomorrow. After polishing the mirror about half an hour, the scratches are still there, but much less noticeable. My wife couldn't even tell until I showed her where, so will leave the mirror alone. Don't want to remove the door panel to fit a new cap, especially if it doesn't come factory painted. I'd just repaing the one I have, since it wasn't broken. So not a fun ownership start. Ha ha. But hopefully it'll be a good boy. Oh, and it has a freaking rattle inside the dash. If I buy the instrument pod with oil temperature, would try to find it. Will wait for a FORScan expert who's going to give me a Mustang spreadsheet, and hope there's a way to add an oil temperature 'middle' gauge. If not, then would for sure buy the pod, even when I'd lose the MyColor.

If you don’t mind sharing, what was your final OTD cost? In the General forum on here folks are saying the some Dealerships are not combining the 0/84 with rebates/discounts - the buyer has to select one or the other.

MSRP $53,475.... price before TTL $45,725 using 0% for 84 months. I haven’t seen any deal like this while I was searching for a car. I was in contact with many dealers who wouldn’t do anything more than like 5% off. I didn’t even have to negotiate. I MAY have been able to get more but to be honest, they were great. Scheduled transport for the vehicle (I paid) but handled it all for me.

Brownlee ford out of TN is incredible. Unfortunately they have no more bullitts but their inventory is amazing.
