If it is any issue, (like y'all claim it to be) i wouldn't think it is minor. "labels" or whatnot. Minor issues like these could be fixed at the dealer.

A normal factory order takes at least 1 month, (check any other vins from your dealer and track it on Cotus) you'll find it yourself. They are saying that my car is still sitting at the base for a month after it being built and I ordered late Jan. Rail car shortage or whatever the case may be, I am not believing everything they tell me, just gonna be adamant about asking for shipment history before I sign the paperwork. And i think all ya guys that are delayed should too.
I understand what your saying, but there is a HUGE difference between Ford fixing something internally by the plant and calling a dealership to say they accidentally released a car that's not ready to sell. Once Ford marks 'ok to sell' and it boards the train the dealer now owns it and FoMoCo has completed their obligation to the purchaser (the dealer). It's just not acceptable to take an 'okay to sell' from a dealership. Ford is on the hook to the government for crash, emissions, etc., not the dealer.

I've tracked all the Mustangs my dealer has and 3 months is the average from ordered to delivered in COTUS. I know that's not the national average, but those times are only going to go up as demand for the car increases. Also remember that arguably their second best seller is made on the same line and we are fighting for spaces in build and shipment with the Fusions.

All that said, I'm right with you about the shipment history. They can print that out for you and it's not Ford proprietary data. Personally, I'm amazed at how long these things actually sit in rail cars. I would think Ford would load train cars that would be pulled to depot A and those train cars could be uncoupled and unloaded while the rest move on to depot B. Apparently the whole train just waits at depot A and after everything is done, moves on to depot B.
Somewhere in there is irony that the car killed train travel and now the train is getting revenge by killing my car!

Rail is slooowwwwww, they have to stop all the damn time. Look at taking a trip via rail, and see how long it takes to get anywhere. I wish we had more rail, I would gladly take rail over flying if it could get to certain points faster.

I agree there is definitely some reason for this delay - my dealer is trying to find out more specifics, but i am not holding my breath....

Another interesting thing i noticed was that my original window sticker was created on 4/1 (when my car was released for shipment) and i now have an updated window sticker dated 4/13. Not sure if this has something to do with the "hold" or not.

I would think that it is gotta do with the hold. Looks like yours is moving forward.

My sticker did the same except on 4/8 and it's still awaiting shipment.

Nothing definitive, but here's you vs. me and I had no hold.

GT Premium, Manual, 401A, Navigation, Security, 3.55 axle, spare tire, park assist, 50th anniversary trim
GT Premium, Manual, 400A, Navigation, xxxxxxxx, 3.55 axle, xxxxxxxxx, park assist. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

However, if it were a labeling issue than it could be just about anything anything, and nothing I would worry about. Maybe one of the 50th anniversary trim pieces?
Hopefully it is nothing - I would just feel better knowing what the issue was......

Update from ford service: "There are a few others in the same situation. Yours was released from the plant on 4/7, but has not been put out to await shipment yet. Any reason for the wait is proprietary info to the plant, so I recommend you keep checking with me for updates. It should get moving soon. "

I haven't heard this info yet, anyone have any ideas or a similar situation?

So basically, railcar shortage my ass. Our build week had some issues that they refuse to talk about.

Talked to my dealer today and he said my car is on a rail car in Connellsville PA. I guess my window sticker in cotus showing the transportation type as convoy is wrong. So after 2 weeks of being in-transit , it is now a little over half way here. This has now became torcher! LOL!!:headbonk:

Spoke with my salesman earlier, he said he will make a few calls in the morning and try to figure out what's going on. Hopefully I'll have an update for anyone else in this situation.

Mine says 4/8 at the bottom as well. My dealer said it was re-released on the 13th though so not sure how substantial that date is. They just need to ship our cars already :frusty:

I picked up my Mustang yesterday evening. The car is great. Only one panel seemed out of alignment(rear drivers side). It was not enough for me to have the dealer mess with it. My seats don't seem loose but I guess I have not had the car long enough. I will try to take some pictures Thursday. I did not like the wait but the car is worth it.
