:doh::doh:Ok, I just heard back from my dealer. He said that my vehicle was released from the plant and is in transit. He made no mention of where it is. He also did not have an estimated delivery date. So, my dealer is no better than COTUS.

Talked to my dealer today and he said mine is still sitting there awaiting shippment. He said he could not call to complain until 10 days after the EDD. He also said there has been lot of shipping delays recently with Ford, and one of those reasons is nationwide shortage of rail cars. Interesting

Hi Guys, looks like i am part of the 3/30 build week as well. This is what i know so far about my car:

Ordered 3/6
Production 3/31
Shipped 3/31
Currently in transit EDD of 4/20, 4/16 and now 4/18.

Here is the part i don't understand. The dealer was able to track the rail car shippment to the final rail destination (about 70 miles from the dealer) that arrived on 4/8. I am being told that they have no way of knowing when the car will be delivered to the dealer. The car can be shipped all the way from Detroit to South Carolina in approx 7 days, but it takes up to 10 days to get from the rail yard to the dealer 70 miles away???:frusty: Am i missing something here? I thought the rail part was the longest part of the shipping process, not picking it up by truck.

After your car gets off the train, it sits in a waiting lot until a transport truck picks it up to bring to your dealer.

Location and number of transporters. In Houston, the BNSF intermodal terminal is about 13 miles from my dealer. I am a 45 minute walk from my dealer. We are port city for incoming Audis and Volkswagens. Considering all the vehicles coming into Houston, I could see how a vehicle could sit at a terminal. If you near Charleston, it could be the same situation.

It is in Columbia, SC, which i believe is a small terminal (at least it does not look very large from Google maps). Alas, so close, but yet so far......

So does anybody actually have proof that their car has left Flat Rock?

Based on Jeff @ FordService and my dealer, I only know that it is no longer in Ford's hands. My vehicle has been released to transport. I have no idea where my car is.

Ok guys quick update. COTUS has showed "awaiting shipment" since 3/31 and no EDD. Prior EDD was 4/24. My salesman just txted me saying he just received an ETA of 4/18... I really hope that is accurate because COTUS never updated for me... But hopefully this will be good news for some of you that have been stuck in "awaiting shipment" with no update.

I spoke with my dealer today. He confirmed it's traveling through Michigan on Canadian National rail as we speak.

He also confirmed an available incentive to buy out the last three months of my existing lease.

Got a Vehicle Visibility update from my dealer... mine has moved to New Boston, MI.

Based on my experience in 2010, they move the car by truck from Flat Rock to the rail yard in New Boston, MI. From there it gets loaded onto a train car and hooked to a train headed in the general direction of your dealer. At some point, less than 120 miles if I remember correctly, they offload the car and transport it from the train to the dealer by truck again.

My update did not have a rail car number but it did indicate that it's at Ramp 5M. I believe my 2011 was delivered to 5P. I don't think it matters.

I suspect it will be loaded onto a train tomorrow or no later than Monday for the trip to MD/VA. It will stop briefly at a railyard in Willard, Ohio. For my 2011, once it left New Boston, it was exactly a week to delivery. 6 days to my dealer.

It's a little case of deja vu... I started a thread over on TMS on June 15, 2010 asking how to track a railcar and eventually figured it out on my own. I took delivery on 6/22.

If everything follows my previous experience and my car comes in by next Friday... I'll be a happy camper.

And as I refresh COTUS after posting this... my new EDD is 4/20. Meh... freakin' Monday. But in my experience, they provide the EDD as the END date of a one week range. So maybe as soon as 4/13. :)

Mine switched to In Transit this morning with a new delivery date of 4/16 (from 4/12). Other cars I've tracked in COTUS for my dealer had just a 1 day transit time before they were delivered, so I suppose it's possible it still shows up earlier than that.
