I was removing my sound tube nut off the firewall and I must have broken the wires off a sensor that attaches to the driver's side rear cylinder head facing the firewall. I've attached some photos of the broken wires. Does anyone know what sensor these feed? If so, any ideas on how to get just this electrical connector replaced? I now have a check engine light on. I should have just left the sound tube connected.

Reading the code should give you the affected sensor. The dealer can probably order a new pigtail if yours is not repairable.

I think it is the camshaft position sensor. The car is running very rough without it so I am not going to drive it to the dealer or mechanic. Does anyone know the trick to removing the factory electrical connector on the cam position sensors? There is very little room back there and I can't get it apart. I've attached a photo of the sensor. Thanks.

Should have left the nut there and just yanked the sound tube, it would have came right out without any fuss.

Hard to see what the wire colors are... can you post those?

Bank 2 Sensor 2 camshaft position sensor has 3 wires... a Green / Violet, which I think I see in your picture, then a Violet / Green and a plain Violet. This is for a 2021 5.0. Connector # is C2520.

I've attached some reference documents which may help.

At the dealer parts counter, the diagrams they can pull are often quite detailed.

Thanks for the responses and attachments. My car is a 2016 GT. This appears to be a 2 Wire cam sensor. One wire is green/ violet , the other is gray/ orange. I believe it is the exhaust cam sensor I broke. When I loosened the sound tube nut, the socket backed into the sensor and got wedged. If I could go back in time, I would just leave the sound tube in like I did for the first 8 years of ownership.
