Hello,
I have a 2020 GT350.
I drive it very little on the road. I do HPDE track days about 4 times a year.
I just came back from a 2 day event at Virginia International Raceway.
The car is great at the track, I run in the Red group with PCA and BMW events.
I am going to need to replace brake pads. I have been using the stock pads. They seem pretty good, but I feel like they don't have enough initial bite.
Any suggestions on replacement pads?
I don't want a pad that is only for track use though.
The car has no modifications except Camber Plates and track tires for HPDE events.
Thanks for your input.

Stock pads are great. The only reason people use other pads for the street is less dust.

4 times a year and you are still on the first set of pads?

The pedal on the right. Press harder.

I don't have a GT350 but...I can tell you it's going to be hard to find a brake pad that will be acceptable for both track and street (depending on what group you're running in). The stock pads are probably a decent compromise. But with more experience/the faster you run, you're going to overheat them. Initial bite alone isn't really a great tell. For track, you probably want something more linear anyway.

I would look into GLOC or Carbotech brake pads and if you really need to, they make a street pad with a compatible formula which makes swaps a bit easier.

As an example...I'm currently running Carbotech X12 in front and X10 rear. They squeal on street and dust like a mofo but they work fantastic. I have a set of street rotors and pads to swap to if I really want to not squeal or dust on street.

I was also at VIR this weekend - were you running yellow group? I thought I only saw 1 GT350 out there, but maybe I wasn't looking hard enough.

edit: I also see you posted this in the GT500 subforum - you may want to see if someone could move to the road racing or suspension/brakes section instead.

To get a bit more bit ,try braided brake lines. I got them from Steeda.
