On the Rev Auto run, it says it was done in third. Isn't that deflating the results a bit?
I was thinking the same thing. Why wasn't the run done in 5th gear for a 1:1 ratio?

Stock motor signs off at 6500, this one makes strong power all the way to 8000!!!! And 20+hp more. Well worth the money in my opinion. On a race course this car would be way faster.

Ive been contemplating going with either a boss or CJ manifold. Still undecided and waiting on the numbers from this thread and the cj install thread. Doesnt seem like much of a price difference if you are going to upgrade your throttle body with the boss to a 90mm. Do you think theres much of a HP difference using the boss with the stock 80mm tb or upgrading to a 90mm? If its like only 2-5 hp its not worth the $500.

Another reason im leaning towards Boss is that u can use the standard s550 aftermarket CAI, and you can also close the hood with just a little bit of trimming. Im pretty sure the CJ is quite a bit taller that the Boss ya? Anywayz just my thoughts. And again I really thank the two of you for putting the money and time into doing this first.

You won't need a 90mm tb with the boss IMO. You can either do mounts or trim the hood for the boss...not sure how close the CJ is to fitting.

awesome! Ya I just hate losing the strut tower brace. And if i lower the engine i would have to remove my steeda front K-brace... So i guess its just pick your poison... Excited to see some peoples results though!!

If you're ok with dremeling out part of the hood, that's a route you can go. The hood liner will go back in place and clear it as well...so it's not like the cut will be visible. But no way will the strut tower brace be reused....probably doesn't do a ton anyways.

I would rather cut the hood than have to give up the steeda K brace

Just thinking outside the box on this but everyone knows the top cover of the boss manifold is just held on by double sided 3m tape right??? With the raised lettering and ribs removed, I would think there wouldn't be a need to lower the engine or notch the inside of the hood. Maybe I'm wrong.

Here's what I did with a Boss manifold a couple years ago. Shaved off the "Boss 302" lettering and ribs, filled, sanded, and then painted the cover to match the color of the 5.0 I had at that time.

I'm sure by shaving the top cover depending on where it makes contact with the inside of the hood, shaving the top cover could lower the overall height of the manifold a 1/2" easily.

That's not a bad idea actually....someone should test fit it like that. I don't remember where it contacts. I do like the way the boss looks though.
