I know Steeda shortened their X and H pipes when the facelift came along, but it was only done so you didn’t have to cut the little heat shields off (and those only came with the facelift).
We had a ford racing touring catback on our 2015. It droned to much at freeway speeds (lots of hills here) so we put the Borla (not ford performance) resonator on in place of the X pipe. It took a lot volume away, but there was still some drone.
I then decided to put on the ford performance by borla resonator as listed in this thread (along with removing the sound tube) and I had both drone mostly eliminated AND more volume at wot. Best of both worlds!
On my 2015 GT I installed GT 350 intake, Stainless works long tube header with cats , H pipe and Boral touring exhaust.
We tuned the car on dyno and it peaked out 435 hp.
It was very loud so decided to reinstall the factory ford exhaust resonator on the spot.
Put it back on the dyno and lost 2-3 hp on top but picked up some between 3000-4000 rpm's.
After install the resonator it was perfect, very loud when you got on it but no drone a cruising speeds!
In 2021 installed a Whipple with the same exhaust and ran it for a few years still sounded great.
This year decided to remove the cats and it still is working out great.
Stick with the Ford resonator, they spent a lot of time engineering out the drone.
