On a more serious note, octane booster isn’t a replacement for the correct octane fuel. Plus there have been reports of this stuff causing varnish buildup with regular use. I’ve also read there’s speculation it’s factored into some engine failures, mostly on boosted cars, where it was relied on too heavily.
On an NA car I don’t think there’s any value for an octane supplement. Even if 91 is the “best” fuel you can get, a 91 specific tune will net much better results.
For boosted applications, I downright wouldn’t use it. If you can afford boost, invest in quality fuel.

Boostane works fine. It will leave an orange film on exhaust components, if you use it excessively. I ran multiple tanks of my "race gas" setup, which was two big cans per tank. Netted a very nice increase in power. But got pretty expensive. I ordered a 55 gallon drum of e98 and go fill up gas cans with E85 that's an hour away, which usually tests 60/70%. I blend them together and it tests 85%. Brings the price to $4 a gallon total.
Occasional use of boostane is fine and it actually works. But I wouldn't use it permanently.

I haven't used the shots specifically, but I do use it 100% of the time in my personal car with no issues. I mix in a 1/2 can per tank. It makes a solid 767 rwhp with a gen 3 Whipple. On a soft pump gas tune with 1 less psi the car made 691 rwhp. You could contribute roughly 30 hp from the additional boost, and an extra 30 from added timing that was a direct result of the extra octane. We recently did a gen 5 Whipple on a 18 GT. It made 685 on straight 93, and 715 with a little Boostane. Both cars being tuned by Lund. You can believe what you like as far as it not being a "proper replacement for the correct octane fuel," but results are results. A year and a half of use, 1/2 can every tank, great performance, and no problems. It is pretty economical if you stay around 100 octane. The guy that developed the product created it to use in supercharged speed boats. I don't think they would use it in very expensive supercharged V8s if it was not a quality product. It's not the best solution for everyone, but it is a great option for many people and situations. E85 will make more power with all other things being equal. If you are fuel system/octane limited, and/or don't have access to e85 its definitely worth considering. If you are interested in getting some I am a dealer for Boostane, but my intention is not to make a sales pitch. I'm simply sharing my experience with it and offering it as a product I use. I just bought a bunch of shots. My plan is only to use when racing. I have a soft 91 tune for the street on 92 gas and an aggressive 93 tune for the strip. Haven't heard of anyone losing an engine because of Boostane. Only thing I've heard it could clog cats or burn o2 sensors when used heavily. And by heavily I mean mixing too much per tank not just using regularly. Short story 1 shot per 16 gallons would be fine.
