I will add that most of the older 4cyl and 6cyl turbo Bimmers are not much to worry about. But from a light, if you come across anything with "550i", "650i", "M550i", M850i", "750i", and a few others, then you won't be as lucky. Those things with AWD are darn near impossible to beat from the punch. And the newer M2/M3/M4/M5/M8...are monsters.
Eh, I don't want trouble from any turbo 6 BMW(or Supra...) these days, especially not the B58's. Too much guessing involved. Could be bone stock with an intake and exhaust, could be 700whp with a big turbo. The power they gain with just a tune and downpipe is obnoxious.

The V8's are quick but enthusiasts typically don't own/modify them at nearly the same rate.

Regardless, my 2008 335i was an unreliable POS but when it ran right, it could fly. 😅

My Z4 with just a 93 octane tune and 4.5lbs of extra boost dynos 445 whp with very strong low end. I really should replace the downpipe. I average 23 mpg, more if my wife is in the car. I love the B58!

I always get problems with the Mopars. No one else.
If you are lined up next to them at a light, and you know they want to race, just look over with a smug look and half assed smile and ask them if they are stock. They may still go, but you don't have to.

Oddly, I don't get challenged on the street much but when I do, it's mostly by Mustangs.

Same here - always some dick heads in ShitPacks or HCs. Funny thing is at Track days (where you can really demonstrate your car's capabilities), the HC's suck - they get killed by cars with half the horsepower.
Most people at the strip during TNT can't drive for shit that first 60' :) Hardest part of the drag strip. Tires help too!

I have never understood the fascination with bmw.

They are so boring and plain looking, I mean the new Toyota Camry stands out more then a bmw does.

Not to mention they sound terrible, who thinks a car farting down the road sounds good?

And last but not least, they are some of the most problematic cars on the road.
