My BMR springs (Min drop SP089 fronts and perf. SP082 rears) are on their way to Australia right now and I'm making sure I'm ready for the install.
A few points I'd like to be clear on;
- Shorter bump stops. Probably unnecessarily I have also purchased the Ford Performance bump stops. The rear ones measure almost exactly what BMR suggest to trim the stock ones to. (2-3/8 = 60mm) The Ford Performance front bump stops are however 70mm. For the SP089, do I trim these to 48mm? (Same as the height recommended for the SP081)
- Threadlock. The Ford Performance stops also came with threadlock. Is this applied to all nuts / bolts on reinstallation? Any that it shouldn't be applied to? (Obviously not wheel nuts!!)
- Grease. I think I saw somewhere white Lithium grease was recommended on the spring bases. Can anyone comment?
- Clocking the bushings. We're using a two post hoist for the install, but I understand clocking needs to be done with the car level and loaded. So it would need to be on a drive-on hoist or over a pit. All bushing bolts are loosened first and then all re-torqued. The aligned. Correct?
Any other tips for the novice?
