Just wondering if anyone is also having this problem? The story is, my iphone connects properly when i get in the car and start the engine. After a few seconds it will disconnect by itself but, it appears that my phone is still connected. (picture attached). I notice that it will disconnect after I try to play a song, and if I get a call, sync will let me answer it but I cant hear the person talking nor they can hear me.

help??

thank you!

What version iOS is your phone on? This was an issue with version 8.0 up until 8.2

Hi Oak,

I'm with OEMRadio on this one; make sure your iOS is up to date. Have you tried any troubleshooting yet (example: master reset, rebooting your phone, fresh pairing)? Either way, there are a few things we can try. :)

Same thing was happening to me. To diagnose whether it was the car or the phone, I tried a different phone out. The other phone worked so I knew it was my phone acting up. Needed a restore to get it working properly

I had this same exact issue with my Note 5. Used the battery disconnect method, it worked for a week or 2, then it happened again. Try checking the Ford website to see if you have a Sync update, this fixed mine and haven't had an issue since.

Just create an account on the Ford site and there is a section in the owners part about sync versions. Simple to update yourself with a USB stick, takes about 20-30 minutes.

I tried the while master reset. But is there a permanent fix?? Apparently it will happen again within 6 weeks?

Maybe I'll try doing that when I get home, but I did the whole master reset. Where you hold down the power and right skip button. It worked, but apparently it's not permanent

I tried Master Reset, didn't work for me personally. Software update did the trick, been about a month and no issues so far. Just make sure to follow the website instructions on installing... the Sync voice will tell you when installing is finished.

Not big at all. I think my USB was only 4GB? I'm pretty sure 8 should be fine. Make sure you have gas too, if memory serves, the car will need to be running during install.
