Did both of these at the same time since big homie ray helped me out and donated these parts.
Moroso did not design the baffles like mishimoto or even the standard jelly. But she does look purtty and stores coolant like she should.
the Tstat it self was a completely easy install, unbolt the housing pull old put new. temps can rang anywhere between 185-195 degrees. the temps get higher when cruising but drop immediately when you let off. (good or bad?)
Mustang meets was a huge success. SD had about 40 cars out this night and apparently im not the only one who has nothing to do Wednesday nights. Big thanks to all who made it a good time. next one i believe may be jan 6
next.... spring swap. David was able to swing me a set of progressives to try out. I was honestly a bit skeptical about tradng out progressive fore progressive... but...
im extremely happy with how this has turned out. another quarter inch lower and the ride quality definitely has improved over Eibachs. When i say improved i mean i feel less of the road when cruising to work. I got into a bit of a spat over linear v progressives, but here's the thing. Im sitting at 30k miles on this car. I take this thing every where i go. i would love to have the maximum performance out of this car possible but its not going to happen if i have to sacrifice comfort. yes i bought a performance car, but why can't i enjoy it without bouncing my brains of the walls of my skull while driving it.
Progressive = compromise between comfort and performance
Linear = max performance and stiffness. Also Harsh ride quality
some might say they dont notice a difference in ride quality, well thats because ford's Perfomance pack uses linear springs for their set up.
But progressives spring rate is stiffer than fords at curb and cornering. so why cant i be comfortable when cruising?:headbonk:
anyway over eibach, I feel there is a significant improvement. In ride quality, stance and even cornering. Plus look at this bitchin stance. I swear nobody pays me to say this...
huge thank you to ray again for hooking me up. He's certainly got a taste for classy/aggressive wheels. Flows so well with the car. added some weight but nothing a power adder later on can't fix, right?
i have new tires on the way home which will be 255/35/20 F 305/35/20R
the rims are 20x9 /32 20x10 /45
She's definitely been getting more attention lately, especially from all the camaro owners ladies
annnnnnd last update this morning willl be.... e85 tuning kindly and generously donated by lund. His flex fuel tuning is awesome. People will tell you to go straight e85 for max performance, but here's why i can't. There is a huge lack of ethanol stations here in CA, or at least SD. I have planned carefully when and where to fill and at what times, so that i don't run out of fumes. After running three tanks of e85 I've seen my range drop from 289 to 216, which if done correctly the math is almost right. The beauty of the flex fuel is adapting to whatever octane or ethanol. So if i ever happened to run out of gas i can hit up the old 91 stations again. I honestly dont want to carry a tank of e85 around.
Things ive noticed
- Huge change in volume at cold starts. so much quieter, my neighbors have actually started waving at me again. I can leave at whatever time of the night with out having to push my car out of the driveways(not that i ever did)
-Lower A/F, expected after reading about that in the threads. 10.1 - 10.3 is about where i sit at idle.
-Smells good! i never had complaints about the smell of exhaust fumes. Even without cats. 91 smelled great to me...
-Notable butt dyno gittyness. I love how smoother the car feels and she pulls hard when im not breaking traction. new tires coming this week, will let you know if breaking traction is due to shitty tires or the new tune.
Here's a few great shots by Danny the menace and a great friend of mine Mark hurtado. These guys are awesome to hang with and Mark absolutely captured the essence of my garage days. I always welcome those who need help, or those who have knowledge to share. The people ive met over the last year from youtube or IG have been great. Fair warning, i have plenty of guns and knives... dont try anything.
i keep losing track of what I'm doing, but heres an update.
I recently fell asleep behind the wheel after working 36 hours straight.
i curbed the rohana wheels pretty bad and bent the front LCA
fortunately i have great friends and i lucked my way into a new set on velgen wheels and boy.... they're fantastic
