I like to look for new cars that have BLIS on their side mirrors, and then ride their blind spot and make their BLIS alert toggle

The thing is I don't want to use some electronics telling me if there is a vehicle next to me or not. If I get into an accident because of of that, Ford is not gonna pay for the damages. I prefer having the little convex mirrors instead of BLIS.I'd say it's extremely accurate and would even say it's had a 100% success rate so far. I rely on it and my situational awareness, but I never turn my head.
May the force be with you, Keith. :cheers:I use 'the force' when lane changing f that other stuff lol

I trust seatbelts and I don't have security system at home because people will break in when they want to. Do you think your car security system is gonna keep people breaking into it?I agree with Will. Most of the time on the interstate, just glancing in the rear view you already know what cars may be in your blind spot when it comes to changing lanes. I still look over my shoulder when getting on the interstate, but not anymore when changing lanes. Just not needed.
Some of you are a little over the top with your "You must be arrogant to not trust a computer! That's not safe!" comments. I'm sure you guys trust that the computer will deploy an airbag on a collision right? Do you trust that your home security will go off in the event someone tries to break in?
If you have BLIS and want to still look over your shoulder, good for you. Don't bash people for using BLIS for what it is designed to do.
BLIS is meant to supplement, it isn't a replacement to doing what you were presumably taught when learning to drive. It can't tell you if a car is merging from another lane, among other things.I

You think looking over your shoulder is going to matter with a car going 120 lol? He would be nothing but a blur if he was that close to you.How fast does the BLIS warn you if you wanna change lane and there's a car going 120 miles up quick?

anyone know how far back BLIS can "see" ? 25 yards ? less? You think looking over your shoulder is going to matter with a car going 120 lol? He would be nothing but a blur if he was that close to you.
Not even close to 25 yards.anyone know how far back BLIS can "see" ? 25 yards ? less?
The detection area is on both sides of your vehicle, extending rearward from the exterior mirrors to approximately 10 feet (3 meters) beyond the bumper.
