So I decided to plasti dip the front logo since I wasn't a huge fan of the chrome logo. Had to make it a clean look :D! Here are some pics of the process and end result that I thought I would share.

IMO that's a good move with the darker exterior colors. Looks stealthy...can you take a zoomed out pic of the whole front when your done?

I love that!

Smart thinking. Wish I had the cajones to do that.

Yessir, once it has dried up I will take a couple of more pics from different angles and post them up :).

Haha it wasn't that bad honestly, if you just cover it up nice and go around the pony logo to cover up as many gaps as possible it's a quick process after that

Oooooo I love that! Good call. I was thinking about doing something similar once I get mine, or finding a different emblem altogether. I saw a few awesome variations of the pony at Mustang Week in Myrtle Beach this year.

Was it difficult to protect the radiator from the spray? Is there enough space between the grill frame and radiator shroud to insert a protection sheet?

Thanks guys.

No it wasn't difficult to protect the radiator, I just took the plastic cover off from the top and pushed a sheet of plastic down through the latch area in the middle and spread it out behind the grill so nothing hits the radiator even if the spray were to go through.

What I also did was use some tape and covered up as much area around the pony emblem as I could so that no spray can go through or onto the grill. I covered up the remaining area with the paper sheets in case of any overspray beyond the emblem area.

Hope that helps :)

How close in texture/color does it look to the stock side skirts? I'm thinking about plasti dipping the rear valence along with the ponies (ordered an EB base.)

I've messed with plasti dip for several years now and one recommendation is use five coats not the three or four recommended it will definitely help when you decide to peel off the dip.

The texture is very similar the only thing is the plasti dip (if you're using the matte black color) will be a little darker in appearance. You can probably go to their website and order a color close to that of the rear valence.

Yessir you are correct I did five coats to be safe

I may do this as well if it's still warm enough when my car shows up but, man, I cannot wait until an aftermarket grill comes out so I don't have to look at all those plugged holes.

In my experience, I've done more than 5 coats, but very, very light on each one. When it's about to dry, do another (about 15-20 min apart). My jetski held up all season just fine.

I also did :30 minutes drying time between coats for mine (4). I found it helps it last longer.. No issues with multiple car wash thus far, but all no-touch or spray only.

I think it looks great, especially on black. nice job!

Nice man and thank you! I haven't taken it though a wash yet but glad to hear no issues so far. I feel like making the grill all black makes the look so much cleaner guard or black. If you have pics post em up would love to see :)
