For those of you who have gloss black hood vents, are you having them repainted, purchasing a completely new part, wrapping, etc.?

Thinking about doing this but want to know what the best, most cost-effective way around it. Thanks!

I dipped my factory ones to see if I liked it. Then I bought a pair of gloss black take offs from newtakeoff.com.

I traded parts for mine. I tried to dip my stock ones but I got some wax on them and they looked bad after that.

thanks for the responses.

I don't see the black ones without turn signal on the website. If anyone is looking to trade (I have magnetic), let me know!

I honestly like my turn signals, so I didn't want to pay to get rid of them. So I just had my wrap guy wrap them at the same time as the roof. Charged me $35-$40 for just the vents. They don't have the depth that black paint does, but you can't really notice it until you are standing over analyzing them. Even then, It's not that big of a deal.

These are really the best pics I have of the vents ATM,

Thanks. I just got a quote for $100+ to wrap so I think I'm better off buying the actual product. Also, for those who are wondering newtakeoff doesn't sell the normal black hood vents anymore. They only sell the ones with turn signals.

On a side note, I follow you on IG and you have one of the cleanest s550s! You make me want a CO haha

Being a newbie to the newtakeoff.com site, I assume these aren't actual OEM parts but reproduction parts? Or are they taken off of wrecked cars? The prices are pretty cheap.

I'm not sure if they get parts off wrecked cars, but I'm pretty certain most of the inventory comes from Roush conversions etc.

Can those who ordered/received the extractors from newtakeoff.com rate the condition you received them? Scratches, blemishes, faded, etc..? I am anal about quality. I realize how much cheaper they are but don't want to trade price for quality.

My pair I bought from them had a slight blemish in the paint but after I used some cleaner wax and sealant on them it was not noticeable. They were packaged well back to back wrapped in plastic wrap. I re-used the plastic wrap to store my OEM extractors after I peeled the dip from them.

They were missing the threaded studs but I just pulled them from my stock pair.
