I know there was debate if the bigger spoiler was going to become standard. Well the site was updated again today. Check out the detailed shot of the spoiler on the base now. No more legacy blade spoiler image. If it was a 'mistake' they certainly doubled down on it.

Methinks that's a mistake. I couldn't see them ditching the blade spoiler this late in the model, much less replacing it with the higher end model's spoiler.

They should have made it an option. They also should have made Cup2 tires an opt out option for the HP.

Yah, maybe the first time. Harder to believe when they align more of the site on it.

Look at the ā€˜22 base cars that have already been delivered. It’s still the blade spoiler. This is almost assuredly another build and price mistake.

Could also be that Job 1 is complete and Ford has moved onto Job 2 production, which includes all late availability options. Saw on another site at the end of February that April production scheduling for Mustangs was annotated with "Cleanup Scheduling". Usually means a shift from Job 1 to Job 2.

If the images on the website are correct, it could mean that Job 2 Mach 1 non-HP builds get the HP spoiler but with no provisions for adding the Gurney flap. Might be due to aero analysis that determined the HP s'wing with Gurney flap installed but with no front HP splitter caused even a slightest hint of instability at speed sent the corporate lawyers into a tizzy.

It's possible it's true after all. Most people would probably be happy. I like my blade spoiler more and I also think it's matched better in regards to aero, this combination was chosen from a reason and the same for second splitter + big wing in HP.

The October order guide also said the base Mach 1 came with the performance spoiler and yet those early '22 cars arrived with the base spoiler.

Pretty sure it’s a lazy mistake as nobody clearly tests these webpages.

If it was an issue like that wouldn’t those same lawyers be working to cover fords ass on cars that were already built? I still am of the belief that this is simply a mistake on the website. I had my car delivered last year, in the driveway, and build and price still didn’t have the handling package listed as an option. Plus it showed the car coming with black pp2 wheels. Every ā€˜22 I can find pictures of available on a dealer lot at the moment has the blade spoiler as well
