Hey guys, For the 3.7 engine what would be the best mod for the money to start off with, a tuner, pedal commander/ pedal max, or a throttle body?
I already have a CAI.

Hey guys, For the 3.7 engine what would be the best mod for the money to start off with, a tuner, pedal commander/ pedal max, or a throttle body?
I already have a CAI.
My first mod was the JMS PedalMAX, the problum with the Pedal Commander is you have a box and wire hanging around pain the JMS PedalMAX is programed to max voltage which doesn't need adjusted. If you want MAX pedal responce why adjust it? Plug and go. Then when you have the bucks get a tuner of your chose.

Get some springs. I'd upgrade to some aftermarket wheels too. Have you V6 standout from the rental fleets. Exhaust isn't a bad idea either.

GT cat back takeoff exhaust, best mod per $$ out there. Most GT owners just want them out of the way can be had for free in some case, payed $40 for my GT cat back.

no cutting it bolts right up

Thanks for the insightful replies guys!! But in my case if you can only afford one now the tuner or the pedalmax/pedal commander what would you choose? Can they even work together? And i have been considering springs as well. And yeah i would love to come up for a dyno! What would it cost though?

Send me an email to [email protected] & I will have our shop manager call you for scheduling & appointment and pricing.

The dyno cost depends on your mods - send in an email what you currently have on the car or plan to add at the time of visit - for example, SC would require additional time.

I will keep an eye out for your email & we can discuss soon after.

Tuner unless you are worried about warranty then go with pedalmax/commander. Then eventually throttle body.
whats pedalmax/commander exactly do?
noob to the car scene but so far having a mustang I have learned a lot but haven't heard much about this... And looking for mods that won't hurt my warranty

It adjusts the voltage on the gas pedal. Since we use drive by wire raising the voltage increases the throttle response when you push the gas pedal. Basically you can get increased throttle without pushing the pedal as much. From my understanding anyway.

If you do a tune you will not need the pedalmax at all if the tune is done right the lag is gone. you want to feel like you have a new car again go with the tune, the GT take off exhaust for better sound and an oil catch can to keep your intake clean most tuners will give you an adjusted tune for free or a slight cost when you add other mods to your car so the tune will use the new mods go with the tune you will not belive what it can do for you

I just wish I had been able to afford a steeda tune but when you are retired oh well
