I installed an x pipe. at first and kept stock mufflers for a while it was not loud I might have a video too so I'll post it. Now I installed custom axle back exhaust and I love the sound I've been asked if it's a v8 by some people.
Another xpipe with stock muffler build. Just an FYI, thats kinda the stock setup for 2011-14 v6 manual and I personally love that setup. Its not loud but its not muted. It got some character especially at the higher rpms.

Has anybody used a stock GT cat back on their V6? I'm interested in finding a takeoff, whether from a V6 or GT and throw some axle backs on it. This way I could have one exhaust to experiment with and still have my stock exhaust

So, nobody's going for the Borla Touring sound?
I like the Touring bc it's not too loud. IMO All 3 Borla + Gibson are the best catback exhausts for the V6 with the Atak being the loudest.

I think it will pair with a resonator delete pretty well while not being super loud. There are some free mufflers from the forum as well. Definitely give it a shot!

I'm picking up a stock GT catback from a local member this weekend. I'm probably not going to be getting to installing it right away though, but we'll see.

Does anyone know if theres a difference in pipe diameter between the GT and V6, where the h-pipe hooks up? I think I saw 2.25" for the V6, and the GT was 2.5", but I could have been reading something else. That was a while ago.

I believe you are correct. From what I understand the cat back from the GT can directly bolt on to our V6s. The pipes from the resonator back is 2.5 as opposed to 2.25 which our cars have. Curious, what exactly do you plan on doing with the new exhaust. I need some ideas. I too may be picking up a GT exhaust soon. Lastly does it make a difference whether it's an auto or manual??

Since the 2.5" is behind the resonator, I wonder if there will be any back pressure issues.

I plan to 1st bolt it up as it is to see what tone difference there is. Then if its not what I'm looking for, I'll use it to make a custom exhaust and save my stock exhaust from getting mangled. I don't know if there's a difference between the auto/manual stock mufflerw for the S550. I know there was a difference on the GTs auto/manual muffler in 2013 when I took its muffler and put it on my 4.0L.

Yeah, I basically have the same idea as you. I would imagine because the pipes are a bit wider it should be less restrictive and more free flowing.
