Kbreese, I know what you mean and I like it too. For me, it treads a fine line between tasteful and gaudy. I love the stance, and I love the design of the wheel, although I'd prefer it if the gold was toned down.
Yeah I hear you man, and I feel the same way about the color. I could never drive around with bright gold wheels like that, but as a show car I love it.

This one was my favourite SEMA Stang.......again, the gold isn't really for me (make it anthracite or bronze and it'd be a winner). Again, great stance and great looking wheels. I also love the front fascia with it's 3 gills giving another nod to the early Mustangs
I saw that one too and it's really nice, and I like the fascia too, but I much prefer the spoke design of the wheels on the red one. Ever since I saw them I just LOVE the M580 style wheel, especially on these cars. Thanks for sharing the pics the good feedback.

That was pretty much my point
One thing for sure KB. My opinion of looks on that ride would be a lot higher if it was full lock counter-steering through a turn at Willow Springs Raceway. :first:

Let's enjoy our rides.

I guess I'm really confused at what the OP thinks makes this the best looking S550 of all time then. I'm only seeing a few things that set it apart from a stock S550, and none of those are 'GOAT' items. It has CF bits, but they're identical in shape as the originals as far as I can tell. So that doesn't really change the looks much, just makes it lighter. They lowered it. That too is not really something different than a bunch of people have already done and I don't think it really changes the look better or worse. I see chrome window trim like the LE has, plus all the emblems are still chrome. With the gold bling, that just makes it look a little strange. The only other things are the gold, and the look just makes it tacky to me. Had they at least made all the chrome bits gold too, it would have been a consistent theme, but they didn't go that far.

I'm sorry I don't agree with your assessment, I guess that makes me a troll.

I think the colors compliment each other. Wouldn't buy it, but I'd drive it. Colors are definitely traditional...ummm...'Latin', but I don't have a problem w/ that.

My point is that so many people automatically discard it COMPLETELY just because of the gold. They disregard every other aspect of the car, and make childish replies like puke faces and "Gross".
Opinion #1: Best looking S550 yet!
Opinion #2: Gross!

:barf: = An alternate expression of Opinion #2.

Both opinions - and those in between - are perfectly valid and require no justification. I'm in the "gross" camp because I think that combination of styles and colors does is in fact look gross. If that word is too childish, how about gaudy, repulsive, tasteless, or unattractive? All are acceptable indicators for what I perceive as one big pile of clash.

The fact that you think it looks awesome is fine by me, and I will waste no time trying to convince you otherwise.

So if the wheels were, say, black or silver you'd say the same?

I know this wasn't addressed to me, but if the wheels were a different color: gray, silver, black I'd like it better. (The other gold on the car would need to go as well).

While I get that people like it, as I said before, it's just not me. Doesn't mean either decision is wrong. I know people on the board hate the black PP wheels, but I love 'em. Everyone has an opinion.

NOT MY THING in a big giant way. That said, it wasn't my money either. Whoever owns it, I hope they enjoy it. Those who like it....COOL. Attraction is highly subjective. For instance some people like Sophia Vergara, Some people like Kate Upton....... No wait.. EVERYONE likes Sophia Vergara and Kate Upton. Heck, gay men and straight women like both of them...LOTS!. Wait, what were we talking about??? Oh year the car. Don't personally dig it. C'est la vie.

First, the wheels aren't another color. Second, IF they were silver, the car would be even less remarkable because it wouldn't be all that unique.

Had they done bronze wheels, and bronzed the trim, I think then you would have something that would have a nice look to it.

If they had made the trim all gold to match the wheels, then it would at least be a coherent design, although not my cup of tea.

If you start looking past what IS, and see what COULD BE, then anyone could post anything and say it's the best ever, just imagine it IF it had ...

Yup, exactly. I am one of the people who really dislikes the black pp wheels. But the first time I saw a pic of a pp s550 I didn't say "gross" to the whole car just because I didn't like the color of the wheels. These M580 wheels look 100x better than the PP wheels IMO, regardless of the color.

Hard to say. I don't generally like to advance subjective arguments by employing my imagination. I mean, I could sit here and try to visualize all the things I'd change to get this car off my ugly list, but that seems kinda pointless, doesn't it? I simply don't like this particular combination of elements.

Listening to you go on and on, like these guys are attacking YOU is funny. Let's put it in perspective.

For most here, its more like looking at a Victoria Secrets catalogue and seeing Honey Boo Boo's mom. If anyone is acting like a spoiled brat, its you. Sorry this great post doesn't have everyone high fiving you and telling you hell yeah on YOUR opinion. This isn't high school. It's a forum where A LOT of people bought their GT Mustang because its a bargain high HP track car. I, like these guys bought it for its use (drive it hard & track the thing). Not to coddle it (whine about car washes and rock chips), black out headlights and taillights, lower it and pimp it. That crap to alot of guys is sacrilege. You spend cash on performance with a GT, not bling. Damn hard philosophy to beat in my book and applies to all my vehicles.

Myself and these others arent attacking YOU, just because the majority say it looks like crap. Maybe it does and maybe not. Who cares, none of us are driving it.
Wow, you just criticized a whole bunch of people on this forum alone.

I don't think you realize I am not expecting everyone to say or think it's the best yet, and love every single thing about it. My problem is people taking the negativity way too far simply because of one thing: the gold color. Like I indicated earlier, if the car had all these hideous aspects, huge spoiler, huge fender flares, scoops & stickers every where, Giant hood scoop, 5 sets of fog lights, 26" rims with spinners, slammed to the ground, and a striped pink and purple paint job, it would be different. There's a big difference between saying Not a fan of the gold, but nice car, and "gross" but whatever...beating a dead horse for some of you who just don't understand where I am coming from and want to try and convince me troll/hater comments are legit.

There's really not THAT much going on here. You honestly don't like the wheel design? You don't like the color of the car itself? You don't like the CF skirts? You don't like the lowering? Lets face it, what most people don't like is simply the bright gold, and for some reason can't see past that. :headbonk:
