2019 GT
Drag racing my 2019 GT now. 5.0 with a 6 speed. Put in lots aftermarket including BMR Suspension upgrades and a Twin Disk McLeod. Wondering what gear to leave the line at 1st or 2nd ? I understand there are a lot of factors to consider, but being a manual I don't feel I'm a 60 foot car I'm a mph car.

What has your best 1/4 mile ET and MPH been? Any video or timeslips share?

Yep.. a 4.56 ratio for NA is probably ideal for drag racing a D4 trans.

Ratios were horrible in our '19 'Litt.

The 7 spd Tremec 9070 in our 500 needs a 4.29/4.30,
(w/right tire & whl combo)
but a 4.09 ratio is likely all thats avail currently in a Super 8.8".

& if the 4.09 is only avail in Richmond brand, I'd have to make a phone call to see who's actually cutting/hobbing those, before I'd even purchase 1 for install.

I think a 4.56 gear is the move for drag racing a Mustang with the MT82-D4.

My own experience is leave Ist but don't go full throttle you'll spin the tires just go maybe50ft then hit full throttle
Also don't water up unless you have drag radials on the car

I leave in 1st anywhere from 5800-7900 rpm. 2nd gear leave with a D4 tranny and a 3.73 gear as well.

2nd gear is not enough gear to leave on. I see that leading to a burned out clutch .
