It does look like those are quality materials though. Any more pics of up close interior like that?
I was thinking the same thing, this should shut up those that keep talking about cheap, plastic materials that American car companies use. I love that french stitching, that's what we're going to use on my 38 hotrod project.

That's standard. The fob needs to be large enough to handle so you can operate the lock/unlock/trunk/emergency buttons. Plus the fob will usually hold a real key inside of it in the event you need to manually unlock the car.
Still it can be a whole lot thinner. This is for example what Renault keyless cards look like. It's only a few millimeters thick. The little part in the right bottom corner is the physical key. The one in the bottom picture obviously hasn't been cut yet.

I'd much rather have a standard fob. I hate that key card and would be annoyed every day if I had to use it.

^^This. It has to contain a regular key in case the battery dies or something along those lines. That way you can get into your car no matter what.

NO KEY slot, they usually will start with a dead FOB battery by holding fob next to button.

Key is required to unlock the door if the fob is dead. ;)

Ditto pants storage where they will not "fly" around under high G-force!

Yes, I'm aware of the entry key, but if your Fob Battery is dead, it should start the car even W/O a key slot.
I didn't realize this was in question.

Sorry...I shouldn't have pointed out the car would start with a dead FOB Battery...Most people are not aware of the feature, they would enter car with the KEY, then wonder what to do...I was just passing along information because most people don't RTFM and ask questions on forums and since the two are connected (enter car then start car) I thought I would complete the steps necessary to accomplish the reason for entering a car in the 1st place (FYI)...MY BAD!!-->

i didn't even think about the FOB battery. I was talking about the car battery. Gotta get into the car to open the hood somehow if your battery dies.

I think a standard key fob would be more comfortable to carry in a pants pocket than that. But I haven't been able to try one lol. Just my guess.

I've used the old Mercedes card key. It was quite annoying.

This is mine. It's pretty cool since it fits in my wallet.
