I was wondering when this motor would be getting a larger throttle body aftermarket. Whether or not it's beneficial or snake oil like throttle body spacers, hopefully someone chimes in.

I've wondered about this too but never asked and haven't seen anyone talk about it. BBK says there are some performance increases but I don't know if it warrants the price tag.

We have seen over 1000WHP on 3" Throttle bodies. These are 2.75" I believe this cannot be a restriction at this point. You would have to upgrade a LOT of parts before the TB becomes the bottle neck.

They really aren't. We have 2.75" TB's on the mazdaspeed platform and had no problem cranking out 866AWHP with it.

Roughly 1500 CFM. At that flow rate I can guarantee that a 70mm throttle body is restricting. Most 90mm are rated around 1400-1500. They can flow more but are restrictive at that point. The biggest reason throttle bodies don't always show gains is the intake manifold inlet is almost always the same size as the stock throttle body.

The point i'm trying to make is 99% of this platform will never need one.
