Just wondering if anyone here, ever replaced their battery box ? I have seen people relocate their battery to the trunk, but was wondering if anyone ever replaced just the box under the hood with something aftermarket under the hood. It shows our battery as a 96R, and optima states D35, but most holders I see are all D34, or something else. I know a lot of people have show cars, so I was throwing the question out there. Thank you

No mine is not damaged, as I stated some people do Car shows and do dress up under engine replacement pieces, kinda like the fuse box covers, etc. So I was asking about battery

We have never looked for, or seen a replacement/aftermarket/upgraded battery box advertised. Gotta be 1 you'd thk? 🤔

Nearly every other component under the hood of a (8yr run mdl) S550 having aftermarket replacement options, you would think a battery box would be available well. As you stated, for the car show crowd, if nothing else.

I have never looked at thar area of the car up close (enough) to determine if a different group size (larger obviously) battery could be installed, w/an accommodating box design for it.

Off topic a bit, but ifp a rear battery mount had bedn offered from Ford on at least the performance models like our own GT500. I suspect a number of people would pay for that option, rather than doing it themselves later. Id rather have paid a grand for that factory option, than for other ~$1k options, like the Carbon interior pcs's, or the OTT stripes.

As much money as some will spend on Carbon to lighten a car, moving wt# around can be an option for better bias/handling, as well.

Perhaps S550 Carbon (eye candy) enthusiasts know of available B/boxes.?? It would not be any real significant wt# savings over the thin plastic OEM, but might satisfy those who are into that look.
A larger battery group option might appeal to sound system enthusiast...??

Let us know if you do find anything out!
