I didn't do the full door like the first post, but just the top section. Passenger door was tougher but I used a trim remover tool to help open the gap enough to work it in the though areas.
It's possible, but I'm sure the gap is still there. I didn't even really pry it, just got the tool in there to create a hair of space. Once one section got in it helped the rest follow with one or two areas i needed to give it some assistance. Doors, and dash took me under an hour and I'm in a wheelchair and can't walk so getting around the car and in and out took a little extra time.
Please don't use glue on your interior... I actually redid the piping on the doors and trimmed it to wrap along the top only. The piping would not stay in place so I had to change it. I believe the doors are cut similarly regardless of the trim so there should be a gap as you just need to pry it slightly. That being said, how long is the flange on the pipe? You could be having difficulty if it's longer than 1/4 inch so cut it down to size and try again. If that doesn't work pickup some 3M auto tape and try that out.
This is probably the closest you're going to get. It's cheap enough to just order a few feet and see how you like it and how it matches up once installed.

did mine with a little extra around the air vents. I also have the redline premium interior so this adds some additonal punch. probably not totally finished looking for some more places. also added the auto/manual shift adapter with a red knob. not sure if it's too much. have to live with it for a while.
