No review on here about the Barton Hybrid 3 Shifter thought I'd give some insight.

Being a 'hybrid' you're given the option of trans mounting or remote mounting (similar to stock). I chose to trans mount it, for more solid shifts with added NVH (supposedly).

First impressions: Shifts are much more solid, tighter feel and absolutely NO slop. Pretty much impossible to miss 2-3 shift as the springs are tight. I am using the default springs that came with the shifter and did not opt for the tighter ones.

NVH: There is an increase in NVH. I can hear my transmission through my shifter now; as i get higher into the revs I can feel a very slight vibration that was not there before. However, this does not bother me. Car sounds like a nascar from inside lol.. Sounds like stock when under light load and light throttle.

Overall: Great shifter, solid shifts, and sits about 1.5-2" lower than stock. For some reason my car feels faster now, maybe because it throws me into gear ? Feels more comfortable to shift and I would recommend!

Do you have the flat stick shift lever? That is the one thing that appeals to me more than the MGW which I've driven(and installed) more than once.

I just installed one of these last month. Wasn’t too sure I liked it. But then I installed a weighted shift knob and now I love this thing.

MGW also has a flat stick available.

What difference does the weighted shifter make??

Can you send me a link?

Not flat stick.. Have not had any experience with it either.

Heavier knob means more leverage. Think about swinging a 1lbs hammer compared to a 10lbs sledge hammer.

How did the installation process go for the trans mount option?

Yeah, both shifters are priced equally and both excellent products. I have the hybrid 3 in my car and shifts are incredibly crisp. I like how the barton gives you the opportunity to either mount it to the body or the transmission, and as mentioned above adding a weighted knob made the shifts all that more buttery.

Can set you up with either or here at Lethal Performance. Either direction you go, you can't go wrong.

My apologies for not getting back to you..
I literally followed this video by CJPP [ame=""]

Did not have any issues. Pretty straight forward install, just very time consuming. However, I did remove the exhaust midpipes and driveshaft... It was a PITA working around them
