We've been running NGK 6510's on our coyotes and late model modulars with great success. I've had them on my car for years now as well, running 14 psi and gapped to .028.
The car will get a bit louder with longtubes combined with the Corsa sport axle backs, but most of the tone will be with more throttle.
Kooks green cats are geared towards cars running boost and I believe that they can support about 950 hp where a standard cat shouldn't be taken over 600hp.
Welcome to the mustang club man! As others have already mentioned, you might want to look into the Cobra Jet manifold as opposed to the gt350, if your looking to make big n/a numbers. The GT350 manifold is pretty comparable to the one thats on your car already.
Opening up the exhaust with...
Can't go wrong with the company who specializes in the service that your looking for. The guys over at Lund Racing knows these engines like the back of their hand at this point. Top notch tunes, excellent customer service and the most user friendly device on the market, the nGauge. Go Lund...
You really have to spin the ysi-b pretty hard to reach the blowers efficiency to the point where your really taking advantage of it, its compressor map doesn't start till 15psi.
The JT-b would probably be the better option. The JT and JT-b are good for cars shooting for numbers in the...
Centrifugal superchargers such as the Procharger or Paxton, are definitely not a bad route for a daily setup, unless you have more of a preference to get most of the torque off the line. Then a PD blower like the vmp or roush might be more for you.
As others have mentioned, the centri's drive...
The Paxton setup is fun, but if your looking to make BIG torque numbers, its hard for the Paxton to hold a candle to a twin turbo setup or one of these newer generation PD blowers. The gen 3 Whipple or VMP are putting up some great numbers on the top end as well.
Yeah, the Kooks green cats are really the only catalytic converters thats safe to on a car with boost. Their green cats are good to 950 HP if I recall correctly.
You'll still get a great aggressive tone from the Corsa Sports on you setup. The Corsa Extremes are REALLY loud, especially on a cat-less setup..The extremes just might get old after a while.
The axle back is more of a race style muffler, not a straight muffler delete.
One of the top tier exhaust companies manufacture our LP 18 axle backs, hence the higher price than roush.
The ease of use of the nGauge is hard to beat. I love the ability to easily log the car while being able to monitor a bunch of engine perameters in a nice clean setup. I do believe it has the ability read ethanol concentration as well.
It definitely won't be easy putting the power down with the Whipple blowers power and tq, especially pulleying down. Michelin Pilot sports would probably be your best options for a street tire.
I would definitely look at upgrading the oil pump gears and crank sprocket while your at it, the...
That should put you in the mid to high 700whp range with everything.. If thats a power level you think you'd be happy with it, then go for it! Billet oil pump gears and crank sprocket wouldn't be a bad idea to add either.
I would say its definitely worth the investment to go with the added insurance of the oil pump gear and sprocket when these cars are being paired with boost. Spend the $1,000 now instead of chancing getting hit with an unexpected bill of $7-9k for a new motor later.
800+whp through the mt82 on a Paxton setup here. I've ran it for several thousand miles on the stock clutch. Upgraded to the RXT before encounter any clutch or transmission, having a good shifter certainly helped.
Yeah its even more evident with the new generation Whipple's. They are definitely showing to be competent blowers on the top end, with better cooling and less heat soak than they where known for having. Centrifugal might still have lower IATS, but the gap is narrowing.
The only benefit to the helical cut gears is noise reduction.
Procharger does now offer newer headunits, the p1x and d1x. These are more efferent head-unit now offered versus there p1sc and d1sc. They supposedly make 10whp more per lb of boost of the sc series.
Like everyone else has said, these motors love boost.. From what you described, it sounds like the Procharger kit would be a great option, as you can drive around town and the car will behave as if its stock, until you get on it. As mentioned previously, I would also opt for the helical cut...
