Hey guys I would like to thank you guys in advanced for chiming in on this topic that I'm sure has been discussed over and over. Only thing is since new drag tires keep coming out I feel options may change over time.
So getting to the point, I drag the 1/8 mile at irwindale. Here in Cali. I have a 2016 GT stick with 3.31 gears and I have replica pp 20s so I can fit my 305s nitto g2 in the rear. So currently have headers, x pipe, with a roush axle back, along with a Lund flex fuel tune. And my best time in the 1/8 is 8.2 at 91-92 mph with a horrendous 2.1-2.3 60ft. I plan on buying some 17x9 wheels for the rear but I'm stuck on what tire to get. I have a chance to pick up some Mt street R for pretty good deal. But I used to hear people say to stay away from radials with a stick car. Is this still the case with these new mt? I also was looking at these cause they come in a 275-40-17 which is a shorter tire which is what I need for my 3.31 gearing. But anyway, should I go Hoosiers ? Or try these new et street r. Another big reason I would like radials is to drive them to the track. But thanks again for your time.
