I was always told if you can't afford to take your car home in a garbage bag then either get track insurance or don't track it. So insurance is a must for me.

Sound advice that also applies to mods for your car. If you cant afford an engine replacement if it blows, dont put engine mods on it.

So does this confirm, doing a HPDE, the warranty will cover major failures such as fires and blown engines? All the warranties say is "racing" and these events are not considered racing.

I think everything is addressed on a case by case basis. No two situations are alike, but I am confident an OEM failure on my stock car would be covered if it occurred during an HPDE event.

If you are ever unfortunate enough to have this happen to you, stay off social media and message forums. KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT. Give your dealer and Ford a chance to make things right.

Happy to hear the situation is resolved, although the weeks must have stretched out into years for you. Everyone on the Internet should follow the advice above, even though most won't, because they think publicly venting about their problems will help cause a decision in their favor. It usually won't.

Even though the situation with my first GT 350 was very different, the results were very similar. Ford does listen.

And stay away from yellow - my first one was yellow, too, and I think that just must be the unluckiest color. ;)

No, no, no - I refused delivery on my yellow one because the paint was garbage and the brand-new car, as delivered to the dealer, needed more than $4K in bodywork. The point was that Ford knew it had a problem and took care of it by replacing the car.

Oh - and IMHO yellow GT 350s may be cursed.

Ah OK I ordered a Ruby red but I'm debating changing to yellow. I have a yellow Lexus is300 though

Wow just read your story. You sure had control of your emotions. Not sure how many people would not panic and make things worst. It's a good read for us amateur weekend track rats. Good for Ford and standing behind their product and not making it a nightmare for you. :ford:
