Come on, Ford thought because of the Word Shelby and/or gt350 most would moth ball the cars, and if driven, not driven hard.
But THROTTLE JUNKIES, bought them that mat the go pedal with no load on it, to hear the exhaust Sounds. And Engines later go boom because of it.
Every owner I have met with one likes to let everyone else know the sounds of that engine and throttle junkies the car all the way into and out of the Show/cruise/cars and coffee. The same way V-twin riders Do.
My bet is this has a ton to do with the failures, That and Ford needing to invest about 10 grand more in every engine with better parts.
Hmmm… where to start? Let’s go for the common ground first. It seems reasonable that high rpm/No load might not be a good thing. (Personally I prefer high rpm up shifts 3-4 and 4-5.). I’d also allow that Ford could likely have selected better parts when they designed and built the Voodoo. After all it was built with a particular price point and market in mind.

Then we get to the points where our opinions diverge a bit. Could be just me, but I’m not the kind of Shelby owner you described. Not saying there are none, but truthfully I can’t say I’ve met any like that. Then again, I hang out the track not at car shows, so there’s that.

Bottom line: There are no perfect cars. And there are no perfect people. But the GT350 is a seriously fun car, and I’m super happy with mine. I hope you feel the same about your car.

My bet is that you don’t really take all this forum stuff seriously and don’t mind when your words get a rise out people. Maybe try to play nice.

Not the same as a person throttle /rpm'ing the engine up and down to show off.
Do you take over a second to shift?
And is the shifting only clutch in, slow removal of load, and clutch out load returned, in milliseconds.
Not even close to the same as the whinding up the engine to show off at a light, cruise, cars and coffee. that bruuum, bruummmmmmm, zinnng. it all the time, to make sure others know they are in a fast car.
But like always. YMMV.

I mean I could be wrong. BUT. I personally will default to what those that build engines and people pay 30-70k for units with their name on it. As I think they might know more than me, and must know something if others will hand over 30-70k for an engine built by them.
But I could be wrong, as I am taking the word of others as correct. I doubt it, but there IS always that chance.
If an owner blows up their ride, is no skin off my back.
So they can do as they please. Some might not know, and would rather not, even if they can afford to pay for a replacemnt out of pocket.

Damn! I didn't mean to start a GT350 hate thread. I literally love this car. The amount of feedback to my hands and feet while I'm tracking it is almost undescribable. I dont have anything negative to say at all. Its exhilarating. All I said was that I was getting rid of it when the warranty is over. Is that so wrong? I like warrantys. And Ford did me right so far.
Another poster pointed out me chasing down and passing that Porsche. Thats why I love this car.
Check this out. A GT3 RS is how much more $ than a GT350? I didn't pass him. But I was totally on his ass for the whole session
To be fair if the Porsche had hit an apex or two it would have been more of a challenge!

The Porsche is 300kg lighter with similar power - it should have just driven off into the distance!
