Yea, well, hmm. I don't know what else you can do then.
Guess he is going to learn the hard way. We will see a response after the adjuster looks at the car. He will be saying how shocked he is that they want to use used parts and repair it as cheaply as possible. Then we'll see the i want to trade it, but am scare of the depreciation because of the wreck. How it's not the same as before he wreck. The last we will hear is yeah "y'all were right and tried to help me out even though you dont know me" and we will all say "you live and learn". Ive seen this plenty of time on numerous forums. Good luck OP and i hope i get proved wrong

Another +1 for having my previous insurer try and bend me over. I had to lawyer up. He convinced them to pay me more than their initial offers. By the time I paid the lawyer I lost more than the amount of money they were screwing me for, but it was a principle thing. They paid me my money and I cancelled my coverage the same day. Homeowners, all 4 cars, a motorbike and a RV. Agent took it pretty hard. Still not worth it.

A birdie (lawyer) whispered to me once that insurance companies do watch what you say and do and try to find any way to get out of paying you. The allegations made in the OP need to be substantiated or deleted for OP sake. Unless the other guy failed a breathalyzer in front of him and he was charged witht a dwi if not, then how do you know he was drunk and how do you know he was going 100mph and not 77 mph? How fast were you going? All this is going to be looked at by the insurance and they can deny your claim for any reason they want.

I think the insurance agency can pull my speed from my vehicle, the guy was charged with drunk driving.....I simply generated this thread to obtain knowledge of other peoples past experiences. At this point it seems like the thread may as well be deleted. Thanks anyone that gave sound advice and worthy experiences.

OP - you got some good info to consider in these four pages. Best of luck. I hope you post the outcome after everything is settled.

Is there a difference between the performance package front bumper and non pp bumper?

Is there a spec sheet out there somewhere for the performance package radiator? Insurance wants to use an aftermarket radiator and that does not give me a warm fuzzy. After market is $252, Ford is $621. Same for the condenser.

Pretty sure you have the right to insist on using OEM parts. It's their job to fix your car back to the way it was before you had your accident. I had an incident a few weeks ago and had to get some front end work done. I took it to a Ford body shop and they ordered everything OEM. Even though the prices were super inflated they didn't ask any questions and just ordered all OEM stuff and the car looks and feels as good as it did before I took it there.

Apparently Geico is an "aftermarket parts" insurance....the more you know:doh:

I believe all replacements have been OEM outside of the radiator and condenser. Geico is denying those parts do to availability of aftermarket parts :frusty:

Well that kind of sucks considering I just switched to Geico last week (after my claim with Progressive).

Simply tell them any aftermarket part will violate warranty therefore forget about it.
