Backup Camera Stopped Working

My back up camera stopped working. I put it in reverse and the screen does not change then after about 5-10 sec it gives and error message that says camera is not working and to contact the dealer. I am going to take it in to the dealer.

My car seems to be plagued with electrical and sensor issues. I like the car but I am gonna have to get rid of it before my warranty runs out or it will cost me a fortune.

I had the dealership fix mine for the same issue(camera needed to be replaced).

Same here. Dealer said that camera needs to be replaced. Still waiting for it to be delivered =)

Apr 25 2016 2959 - 2015-2016 Mustang - Inoperative Park Aid Camera, Luggage Compartment Lamp And/Or Poor Satellite Radio Reception
Some 2015 and 2016 Mustangs may experience an inoperative Rear Parking Aid Camera, luggage compartment lamp, and/or poor satellite radio reception. Check the 14A005 wire harness at the right deck lid hinge for damage between the package tray harness retaining clip and the deck lid harness retainer clip. Repair the harness following repair guidelines from section 5-1 of the wiring diagram. If equipped with deck lid mounted satellite antenna, make sure the shielding is wrappedon the antenna wires securely after any repair. Secure the harness ensuring it rolls downward into the trunk area when closing the deck lid and does not becometrapped between the deck lid and the deck lid opening flange. This concern may be accompanied by Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) B115E, C1001, and B1A89.

Much appreciate the above information. My backup camera starting giving me problems about a month ago and within 300 miles for the warranty expiration, starting failing again. Of course the above fix took care of the problem but, now I am past 36K. Thank you Deysha and Company for your support - all good now! If you have any problems and are within warranty have them fix it for free even if it is intermittent.

my 2015 gt had the back up camera stop working after a drive. took it to the dealer for an oil change,,,camera. Of course it worked fine when i left for the dealer. they couldnt get it to not work either.... no codes. Glitch? The service tech said the car was scared....wouldnt misbehave

mine just messed up today.

Worked when i left the store but when i got home nothing but a black screen no words or anything.

I proceeded to turn the car off and open the door to cut the power to the head unit. Then stared the car back up and let the radio come back on and now it wont even change screens when i put it in reverse.

My failed backup camera was replaced yesterday.

I see the whole top portion of my rear bumper now and don't recall seeing that before. Now I'm not sure if it was properly positioned. :shrug:

SO funny i stumbled upon this thread. I just hopped into my car to grab lunch, threw it in reverse and no camera. After a few seconds a message popped up that said backup camera is unavailable. Not like the message that's posted above. I am going to give it the rest of the weekend to see if it is possibly just a one time glitch (fingers crossed) before taking it to the dealer next week. :/
