Has anyone else truly been racing their mach 1's? Ive done a handful of autocross events and the usual Saturday night drives. My car has 12k miles on it already.

Ive had a pop noise coming from mine during deceleration (around 10 mph), upon starting even softly, and on turning. The noise is coming from the driver side. Briefly crawled under it tonight and I was able to shake the drive axle shaft and hear a rattle in the end that goes into the differential. The passenger side seemed perfectly fine.

Has anyone had an axle shaft fail on a mach 1 yet? Are they the same as the regular mustangs that are prone to failure? Does one side fail before the other (eg the driver side is the common failure side)?

Ill lift it it a day or two when the weather warms up to look further into this. May take it to the dealer for the work to be done however I always try avoiding that unless its any high dollar repairs.

Check your nuts. Lol. The axle nut on the hub. Sounds like a bit of people had issues with em before and most likely yours need re torqued or may have came loose.

Really good point. Another thing to check particularly with track or autocross use is the rear wheel bearing. Those can create some interesting sounds as well.
