Looking to move on this exhaust this week. Anyone have it? If so, how bad is the drone on the highway? My ‘Stang isn’t my daily driver, but I do occasionally drive in on the highway from time to time.

If it turns out to be too much drone, my plan is to convert the Track edition to the Touring using AWE conversion kit 3815-11030. So I have a backup plan, but it might make more sense to just spring for the Tourning now if the consensus is the drone is that bad.

It definitely drones, as with any muffler delete. AWE states this themselves. The touring is pretty loud as it is.

Right, I’ve seen reviews of the touring and I see its got plenty of volume. I’m considering the track due to its cost effectiveness more than anything. I could also do the touring axle back and a 3rd party h-pipe but I’m trying to avoid a Frankenstein’s exhaust with 3 different venders products. Though I guess it won’t be TOO bad..a lot of people do axle backs and add the h-pipe.

After having 7 different exhaust combinations on my car, just trust me: do it right the first time. There's a reason people end up with the popular catbacks...

That’s quite a few exhaust! Which combinations have you tried and how did you end up with the Coras your running now.

Well this is the first car I've really done a lot of mods too, and in particular, exhaust.

1. X-pipe resonator delete
2. JBA axleback + resonator delete: this was very deep and was nice on volume but the deep tone and light drone gave me headaches and wasn't fun to DD
3. Corsa sport axleback (Xtreme mufflers) + stock resonator
4. Corsa sport axleback + MF resonated X-pipe
5. Corsa Xtreme catback
6. Corsa Sport catback

I guess it's 6 if you don't count stock haha. I had #4 back on the car in between 5 and 6.

Corsa Sport catback was the one that I always wanted. Cheapness and uncertainty about how loud I and the wife would tolerate kept me from going straight to it. I wish I had just done it, though. It's an amazing exhaust. It's very rich and deeper than comes across in video, and is pretty darn loud when you're trying to be. When you don't, it's not. You can crawl around the neighborhood at light throttle and low rpm and not even be noticed. On the highway it's just like stock unless you downshift and get on it, and then it obviously obliges with great sound. The best part to me that separates it (and the Xtreme) from many other brands I've heard is a multi-dimensional sound. It changes tone with both different revs and different load. It makes it more fun to rev not just because of the volume but also the tone. Wouldn't ever change it.

I've heard great things about the AWE Touring if your heart is set on it, though.

Good story! Glad to see you got the exhaust you were after. I have heard nothing but good things about the Corsa. I even considered it at one point. Heck even the Extremes (who hasn’t lol).

I have gone back and forth on this topic probably more than any other mod I’ve considered. My heart wants a deep, rich tone. One that is somewhat aggressive but just a nice deep tone. I am a big fan of Mercedes AMG exhaust. I also love the look of the Ford Racing quad tips. But I don’t like the tone of the Ford Racing. Its too raspy for my taste. If I were gonna go that route tone wise, I would do the Corsa because they sound good despite the hire pitch tone. But the heart wants deep.

My hope is that AWE offers some sort of a set of tips or some conversion for the quad tip GT350 valence. Hence why I’m looking at AWE. Hopefully I can get the deep tone I’m after, but still have the look of the quad tips.

Thanks for your suggestions. I appreciate the feedback.

The Xtreme is a ton of fun, and way deeper than videos convey, but yeah doesn’t have that deep muscle lope like Mopar for instance. The brutality of the tone is completely intoxicating. I was sad to give it up but it was just a bit too loud. The sport is 3/4-7/8 the volume (over stock) but man that hit makes a difference.

Yup agreed on the deepness. Especially on the 18 and lower rpms.

Its pretty darn loud. If its not a DD and you don't mind some humming once in a while, then it sounds great.. So many options for the Mustang its hard to choose.. A lot of people go through 3 different setups before they find the right one..

Contact us for pricing on any!

If you're looking for a deep quad exhaust, try the Krona. It produces a nice deep sound, without any rasp. Once broken in, there's no noticeable drone either. While it was designed for the 2018, Matt told me it was 95% similar to the one for 2015-2017.
Just giving you one more option. No matter what direction you go, make sure you choose the one you feel will make you grin the most. At the end of the day, it is the reason why we modify the exhaust.

Josh@AWE recommended I wait for the quad tips to come out. I was hoping the quads would be a function of tips only, but apparently they are entirely new mufflers. I think I must visit YouTube 3-5 times a day looking for new clips and reviews.

At the end, what exhaust did you end buying? I am in the same position as you with the AWE between Track and Touring... i dont like too raspy exhaust
I am liking the quad tips MP concept version

I have a Roush axle back with X-pipe install and I want to change it...
