Accepted.

Still, I think the demand will easily outstrip the supply for this car. I am talking like I am getting one, but that may be easier said than done. LOL.
I'm not really sure, I think ford was not far off with their 5000/year number. It is very much in line with Boss 302 production, and im sure some Boss cars went over sticker in certain markets, especially in 2012, but a majority of those cars were sold at MSRP or less.

The only bottle neck is this first run, after all the die-hards/early adopters get their cars, the line gets much shorter.

if you look at other cars that are 50-70k, manual transmission only, competing with the GT350...they are all in the similar range in terms of total production per year. (Manual M3s, Manual Z51 vettes, etc)

This!!!
<Ford Marketing>Look at this neat car we developed and the reasonable MSRP on it!</>
<Customer> I want one! </>
<Ford>We're only making a few so you can't have one (without being f*cked by one of our dealers, AKA the MSRP we quoted is bullsh*t) But looky over here, we'll sell you a GT </>
I don't really think we can blame ford, they can only make so many cars so fast when production is just ramping. They stand to gain nothing by saying we will build as many as we get orders for, because then they can flood the market and/or anger customers when they cant deliver on time

I keep reading that to try and make sense of it but can't. It's very counterintuitive. How can they flood the market with cars that have been ordered? And the problem is not with timing, I'm very happy to wait. The problem is with the "We're a dealer, we've been allocated 2 GT350s and therefore we're asking $20k markup."

Dealers can order cars too. The last thing ford wants is a bunch of factory special cars sitting on the lot at the end of a model year

Dealers will never order the basic car. Every one will come in either track or tech packed and with stripes.

Said it before and I will say it again, barring the 2015 MY cars, the market is unlikely to sustain ADM's and you will be able to get the GT350 you want at MSRP or better several months down the road from the initial deliveries. This has been the case with the GT500 and Boss 302's in recent history.

Sorry, but if you want to be one of the first to take delivery of a GT350, you'll likely have to agree to an ADM whether you agree with the practice or not. If you're patient and willing to let the initial "newness" of the model wear off, you'll be a much happier consumer.

Looking at the poll based on people who have ordered, it looks like MOST people are opting for those same packages versus the more raw versions.

No one seems to be complaining when the supply and demand curve results in the consumer being able to purchase a particular model at or below invoice. We "support" that side of the curve, then I think we have to support the other side as well. I don't know..... if I was a dealer, why would I sell car "x" at one price when in my best judgment I could sell it for $10K more within the next several days?

I tried to buy a Ford GT back in the day from Galpin. ADM was $20K at that time and I wouldn't pay more than MSRP. Found my GT a week or 2 later for MSRP less $1K. I was happy. Still found it difficult to "fault" Galpin. I'll bet they got $20K over on every GT they sold. Sure, it would have been more convenient for me but I have to respect their business model.

I've been calling several dealers and have found a few with allocations, but so far they have been $10,000 to $20,000 over MSRP. At that price, a C7 is a much better car in many ways, and inferior in engine and brakes. Makes all the cost cutting done by Ford to make this affordable seem like wasted effort. Can't fault the dealers, though. I just keep calling around and eventually I'm sure I'll find one at the price I'm willing to pay. Might be a 2017 though ;-).

I've seen Ford mention on several occasions that they will be producing the regular GT350 in reasonable numbers. The implication was a bit more than Boss 302 numbers, and maybe a bit less than GT500 numbers.

Like the Viper, Z/28, Alpha 4C, Lotus Elise/Exige, these types of cars have significant and vocal interest initially, but that interest doesn't always last because the cars are often very specialized. Once the initial demand wears off, the cars become much more readily available. I expect the same with the GT350.
