I can see why people buy the manual GT, 450bhp can get dangerous, and it's much easier keeping the car below 200bhp by using a high gear, even at WOT. Slow but sure and easy to drive with the Getrag 82. Ideal for beginners

Whereas the A10 will take you above 400bhp as soon as you go WOT. This is harder to drive, requiring more driving experience. One for the good drivers.

LMFAOROTF!!! :lol::lol::lol:

And, which side of the road are we supposed to drive on?

Quite the opposite, the A10 would be ideal for beginners. You need to be a good driver in order to drive a M6 correctly (compared to the A10). With the Auto even a monkey can launch it properly and safely.

I swear that even I can get in the low 12 with the A10 while being in the low 13's with the M6.

Yep, auto is so much easier. Love a good 6 speed but man it's nice to not have to think sometimes lol. I will say the paddles appear to have a bit of a learning curve.

just wait until these 2018 Manual lovers get to replace the clutch. dual mass flywheel has to be replaced, it cant be resurfaced, twin disc clutch assy.. it aint gonna be cheap. you could get me to buy an MT82 equipped Mustang for any reason. now if they would have went with the TR6060 I might have considered it.

Any idiot can drive a manual, I should know I've driven them for 45 years. And an idiot like me sticks a powerful car into top gear and leaves it there most of the time. So tootling along I might give it full throttle in 6th and generate 100bhp. Safe as houses.

But an idiot driving a 2018 GT with the new brilliant power curve and the A10 gearbox puts his foot down and all of a sudden he has over 400bhp to cope with. This takes much more skill as a driver to control and, to be honest, is great fun.

Perhaps I am prejudiced because we all learn to drive in manual cars in England.
LOL, being able to drive stick in America it does put you in an elite club.

You do develop a nice muscle memory connection with the car. But any idiot can develop muscle memory. :)

I think they'll be updating the forks soon. Hopefully Ford will extend coverage on that issue given the engineering problems.

What I have noticed is the transmission doesn't like to be casual. If you aren't pushing the gas hard, it's going to shift slow on the paddles, it's going to shift slow going through the gears, it will shift hard occasional, but when you give it the power it needs it's very predictable, responsive and adaptive.

.
I totally agree, in manual mode you need to push it and the gear are changing quiet fast when you use the paddles. I like the A10, depending on what mode or how fast you accelerate the car sings differently. I have adaptive exhaust that helps a lot for the sound

Also putting the shift lever in S changes the characteristics.

That's what upgrades are for. The stock clutch in my GTO made it to about 10K. LS7 clutch and flywheel were a nice upgrade. Spec should have a nice twin disc for the 2018 by then.

Yep, even the 6R80 took a lot of skill to drive.

I sold mine, since it was too difficult and got a manual. I couldn't figure out if I should put it in drive, sport mode or use the paddle shifters......very tough.

Because replacing the a10 when it goes will be cheaper?

Perhaps I am prejudiced because we all learn to drive in manual cars in England.

Your rational, that because the A10 has 10 gears (to choose from) and the manual only has 6... that the A10's output is less controllable ..?

Or that because an automatic shift on it's own, it is much more dangerous..?

And your reasoning is, because you would end up "dogging" the engine, if someone went WOT and didn't manually downshift first..?

Nope a manual is not idiot proof. And can be jammed into the wrong gear at the wrong time, etc.

so reading this I guess you only knew how to upshift a manual but never learned to downshift? Always just left it in 6th til you had to stop and the engine shut off? :clap2:
