I noticed that my lights come on when the wipers are on...so I consulted the manual and that is indeed how they are programmed. BUT.... it says that they only come on with wipers in continuous mode, not wash, mist, or intermittent - and mine come on when the wipers are intermittent! Does anyone else have this? Is it a typo in the manual, so this is normal? I think the wipers and lights activation must be programmed into the car's computer so I don't know what would make them come on in a mode that they shouldn't.

There is a setting in the center display to turn this off and on. There is also a setting to turn that infuriating courtesy wipe a few seconds after you are done cleaning the windshield.

Believe it or not, all of those modes are considered continuous. They are just limited by the setting, but they are still considered to be ON. The only time they won't come on with the wipers is when you pull down or pull back for wash. Of course, if the light switch is not in auto, they will not turn on either. Not sure when they changed it, but my '11 Fusion is the same.

And, for the record, I love the courtesy wipe...LOL

There is no setting in the menu at least on the base V6 to turn it off. I mentioned it to the dealer when I had it in this week and all he did was print off a page from a workshop manual that is kind of contradictory to the owners manual.

Can any other owners (w/o rain sense) confirm if your lights come on with intermittent wiper setting?
