I find it interesting that you mentions the dealer principals car. Others have mentioned that their dealer principal was getting a car and someone mentioned a demo.
I was distinctly told by Ford dealers that Ford Australia had forbidden any demo cars and dealer principal cars in the first few batches, they were to be for paying customers only.....another pile of Ford horseshit....
Hi Bobsp12, I was openly told that my Convertible order was only their 2nd or 3rd at time of ordering and I would be able to see one before it arrives as the dealer principal (from memory) had ordered one already. If it was as a retail customer or not I can not confirm mate.
Cheers, Alex

...and no, not number one! Did have an amusing chat with number one as we were leaving, introduced myself as number 5! Magnetic GT hardtop;-) Happy to have you check it out once it arrives, hope yours is not too far off.
I ordered a Ingot Silver Convertible GT. The hardtop back seat was just a bit restrictive with a booster seat in the back so guessing I can put my daughter in with the roof down need be lol. As for expectation on mine I have been told two dates - arriving March 2016 and also been told BUILD March 2016. Not sure which is correct but got my "Welcome to your Mustang" email on September 1st and got my NSC code today but means bugger all until VIN. Love your cars colour combo and would love to see it upon arrival.
Cheers, Alex

Light colours always work on the convertibles, white, silver and my favorite the pale yellow of the old '65 mustangs and E-Types... would have gone for that if it was available.
This is a toy for me, fast subi awd wagon takes care of the kids. I suspect that the hard tops have ended up arriving earlier than the verts, though that is pure guesswork at this stage. Right choice though don't you think? Even with the frustration of delays and stuff... cheers, Michael

GT CONVERT, I have absolutely no doubt that dealers are flouting Ford Australia's supposed rules and ordering cars for themselves. I am sure a few close friends and relatives will have their names on the contract though. It makes a total mockery of all the bs that they babbled about how fair this whole ordering fiasco was supposed to be. I imagine that a good chunk of the initial orders are going to dealers and their buddies. That could well explain why a lot of us earlier orderers have been punted down the queue.

Totally agree Michael, springtime yellow is the 65 colour and the colour I would buy a convertible too. Silver was my choice as our family SUV is black and a pain to keep clean and got rid of my G6E Turbo too soon in the waiting period so I have no fast now - that will be the Mustang and have spoken to KPM about some extra fast for it. Think the verts are coming slightly later. Even with the wait seeing the demo car made me agree it's the right choice.
Cheers, Alex.

Cheers everyone,
Let you know when I get an update, or a car of course!! Talking about springtime yellow paintwork reminded me of the yellow Alfa spider I almost bought, still want one but they cost a bit more now... and if I had to choose the stang is waaaayyy ahead! cheers, Michael.

I agree Bobsp12. There are so many inconsistencies in the order of deliveries mentioned on here that it does seem that way. I got the speel about all pre-ordered cars will be delivered prior to any demonstrator cars etc but surely as the numbers grew knew that dealers would not be able to have such a wait for those holding off purchase until they see and drive a Mustang. I guess the payoff for us early order people are we have exclusivity for a little while, a car that potentially is worth MORE driving off the lot than losing money as it gets driven from the dealership and lots of banter and fact finding to pass the time on this forum. Is it fair, especially to people such as your self who were very early on in the ordering of their car ? NO. Should you be rewarded for taking the leap of faith early, YES...will the arrival of the car take away the bitter taste in your mouth of this whole process for you (and many of us) - I sincerely hope so. Chin up as slowly but surely we are getting there and I can say time has flown this year so hopefully the time to the cars arrival passes just as quick..guess the part that frustrates me just as much is being asked when am I getting my car - a question I think friends/family have learnt not to ask anymore...:frusty:

Did any of you consider that the dealer principal may have bought the car for himself?

I am sure at my dealer at least 5 out of the first 10 orders are for staff....I am also pretty confident that they jumped over customer orders after the fsct

Ford had said that dealer principals were not to buy the cars for themselves...either as a private car or for a company demo....that was my take on it as explained to me by a dealership financial officer...penalties such as delayed delivery for ordered cars and orders not being accepted were to be given by Ford Oz.
