I don't think my heart could wait another 6 months after Feb next year.

My heartilage is weak and I need my fix haha

I'm doing all sorts of stupid things waiting for the car. Just had the 86 tuned to hit a whopping 225 Hp, it now revs to 8200 rpm and is a hoot.

Oh and just got my road bike L's and hoping to have a licence in the next few weeks, because I've ridden dirt bikes since I had pimples.

The wait really is making me do silly things haha!

Haha... fair enough. I've always been a patient person I suppose. In my mind, both scenario's I'll have it regardless by June/July 2016. Plus
the added fact that "owning it first", to me personally doesn't matter. Hence why even with the color I went black. Keep it as low profile as
possible

Anyway, it could be worse... at least you didn't stock up your house with parts, then realize Ford decided to play keep-away with your car

No difference to me owning it January vs owning in July. Only I'd be paying half the price in July. Your statement about experience, is rather confusing. Am I not getting the same experience if I take delivery 6 months later? By that theory, I guess it'll be pointless owning it later than the first batch.

Anyway, to each their own.... whens your car arriving quick duck?

You keep saying those that don't sell the first batch is about them wanting to be the first, I am just saying not for all, its about the 'experience' of drving the car, regardless of how many are on the roads here.

mine is not till september/oct 2016, couldnt order until i knew my finances were secure. Since having the ecoboost for 10 weeks, I havent wanted anything else more than this car. I even joked about staying for work in the states so I could buy one! but that would be a silly reason to move countries... no?!?! lol

I'd understand if it was $30K now vs a 488. But a Mustang, and saving 50% off the RRP just for 6 months? Nah... not worth it to me.

Happy to wait till June/July 2016 for the experience and pocket a free $30K

Definitely have lot's of other stuff to do till then mr.duck. Enjoy your car and experience come sept '16!

PS: Just to clarify, I'm not (and never was) telling anyone what to do with their order/cars

Yeah I don't care about owning it first. At this stage I'll be lucky if mine arrives in a year. Looking forward to seeing them on Australian roads

Think about it this way. If you can't sell it for a premium you desire then keep the car. Can't lost really. I'm going to put up for sale for the first month. If no takers then ill happily keep it

Okok maybe not for sale yet but potentially. Me like many here are fed up with waiting for the pony. The hype is well and truly worn off.

For me I am disappointed we dont get gauges for performance pack, not getting the full pp, hand brake is not reversed, no led drls, clear brake lamps.

Before anyone attacks I know we are still getting good bang for buck for the stang. I personally am not sure if i will get the enjoyment being living in metro Sydney and doing short trips. I am thinking to sell my car when i receive it whenever it arrives. Ofcourse I would only sell if i get a premium.

For those who are thinking the same maybe we can use this thread for buyers who doesn't mind paying more to skip the que.

Format as below:
Engine: V8 GT
Colour: Black
Transmission: auto
Located: Sydney
ETA: Feb 16
Price willing to consider: 75-80k
hey austang, I'm here in the states and just test drove 2 GT's , one AT and one MT. both awesome but i liked the AT better ( personal choice ). anyway as far as what we are not getting i don't think its a big deal. i don't care about the gauges and they can be added, the car rides fine with the PP were getting, i drove the AT without the PP and it didn't feel much different to me for a DD. if you're gonna track it you'd mod it up any way. hand brakes no biggie, lots of cars have them on opposite side anyway. cup holders will slightly get in the way of a MT if you need a large cup, a small one will fit without obstruction, the led drl's and brake lights are only seen by others, doesn't affect driving, no hood vents- they can leak and get water in the CAI, could also potentially let in salt air. I'm fine without them. it is disappointing that these small features are missing but if you look at all the things/mods/color changes/wraps, etc that the yanks do ,no 2 cars look alike anyway, they don't want them to. anyway I'm not getting mine till june next year and i can't wait. tom
