Do you know the dB levels (in local figures) for each of these (Cat-Back Touring) exhausts, Fred Vogtland Mustang? Are there any other differences?

There doesn't seem to be a lot of information online.

Thanks.

I don't know the specifics, but the ATAK is level seven on the "What the Fu@k is that" measuring scale....

Sorry for the useless post Drewbo........... Cant wipe the silly grin of my dial

The dba level for the EU Touring as per our ADR's is below 90 dba as tested in accordance with the EU standard upon which our ADR noise dba is based.

The US Touring exceeds the 90 dba by a few notches. The 'S' Type and ATAK are both somewhat over our limit however they tend to come on strong at the upper mid range.

Our noise regs and the USA ones differ somewhat in the way the measurements are done. The US also have a 95dba limit.

It gets down to a matter of what you want sound wise. What I have said to some of our customers is that you can always fit the 'S" Types or ATAK systems and if you decide you want to quieten it down later you can always replace the X Pipe with the Borla front Muffler. It still won't meet the ADR noise regs but will tone it down on Cold Start ups if neighbours are a problem.

I have sold a lot of both the 'S' Type and ATAK systems and can only say that no one has come back saying they have been busted.

If you are driving like a fool and full on the throttle in the city I am guessing you stand a chance of getting noticed by the law but it wont just be for noise :)

I have sold a lot of the 3" Cat backs and again no issues.

Another alternative is the Borla Axle Backs whereby you retain your stock front resonator and still get a great sound. Always a good idea to put your factory exhaust aside in case :)

Just something to think about AMG Benzs, Lambos, Ferraris, Porsche Gt3 all exceed the dba levels under heavy throttle.

Everyone has also forgotten the extra HP you get with a better exhaust. Plus BORLA do not give you cabin drone.

Thanks for this info. I have the US Borla AB's already in waiting for our pony and didnt know what to expect really, but I had a chance to hear one of our members on the weekend and was surprised how quite they are compared to the online videos from CJPP and Borla... Now I am wondering if I should get the x pipe but was worried that would be too loud. I might touch base with you when ours arrives. :headbonk:

They should sound good, interesting to get your feedback. Looks like you still have a long wait for your car.
Thanks for reminding me about the wait... yeah will see how they sound at the time. All I wanted was that low bass type rumble and not the high pitch rasp. But is so hard to tell with video sounds.

When time comesto do the exhaust system I'm seriously thinking the full Ford Racing Borla cat back system. I will have a look through the suspensionpartsonline for the system as I've heard it with the smaller resonator and was happy with the sound
