Looks the goods.

What system did you go? Touring / Sport or other? Axle or Catback...

Most importantly how does she sound?
Sounds great.
We have the touring cat back, which is quite quiet in the car, Much quieter in the car than our 2015 with the Corsa extreme in the US.
Still sounds good when you get on it.
Excellent for a daily driver but still sounds way better than stock.
Extremely happy with the look as well.
The wife would like it a bit louder but it would draw to much unwanted attention here in WA.

Xtreme is still good for a daily driver ;)

I gave it a proper dig from a stop on saturday, just to cheer my brother up, and we couldn't stop laughing for a good two minutes afterwards. It is insane, but I love it :headbang:

Great feedback, thanks for that. I'm going to go down this route I think.

Your wife needs to talk to my wife re: encouraging some Mustang enthusiasm. haha.

Possibly a silly question, but can you drive the Xtreme 'quietly'? ie; at low revs?

The Magnaflow Competition is leading my choices at the moment and it is rated at 100db, but I'm assuming it won't be too insane at low speeds around home.
Out of curiosity, what is the Xtreme rated at?
Also are you able to give me some info on where you got yours from? You can PM me if you like.

Depends on the circumstance. Low rpm on the freeway yes, it's surprisingly very quiet. Around town, "quietly" is debatable. If you're just driving around normally below 3000rpm then it's not too bad. Granted you'll still turn the heads of everyone that you drive past, but they won't get the pitchforks out.

To compare with the magnaflow it would be around 110db at 3900rpm. Gotta be pushing near 130 at WOT though. The only time I really worry about the volume is cold starts. Wake the dead loud. Otherwise it's manageable, I drive slower since I don't have to rev the thing out to hear it

Maybe silly question but does removing the sound tube compensate in any way for a louder exhaust?

I mean if the exhaust is a little "too loud" does plugging the sound tube make any difference?

And yes I know it's two different things, but I don't know how much sound the tune contributes compared to stock/aftermarket exhaust.

... and yes, probably makes even less diffence in sound in a 'vert with the top down :)

Scott.
In my trials, I could not perceive any change in noise, either inside or outside of the cabin. This was both with the factory and the after market exhaust. (well as for the after market...I really couldn't hear anything else anyway...lol)

The sound tube apparently enhances the in car sound. It is the induction sound that this device is trying to enhance. As I mentioned above I could not notice any change.

Hey guys, I am planning to put Borla S Type. My mechanic was asking me whether the engine light comes on wheh you change to a catback? He's seen that happening on the OZ fords and holdens, I'm not sure whether that's the case on the mustang too. Can someone please confirm?

No check lights coming on with cat-back systems on Mustangs.

Don't take this the wrong way but if your mech is asking you, I think it might be time to find a new mech, he should know!

How would he know if he hasn't touched this particular car!?

Well it's a catback that doesn't touch any o2 sensors, so it wouldn't set off any CEL.

I'm not familiar with modern Oz Fords, but a catback should not activate a CEL in a Holden, as again it doesn't go anywhere near the o2 sensors.
