without having heard my xtreme, I can almost guarantee I've owned louder, never had any issues with that car even though I was on my Ps - save it for a highway/windy country road

It also pays to not piss your neighbors off with a stupidly loud exhaust as they have to put up with it every day and as such are fully within their rights to report your car. I've done so myself on one occasion.

Ill try and give some thoughts on the MF Comp Cat-back.

- Cold start is very loud but soon settles down. As some have mentioned, its about being smart, I start mine with the garage door closed, then open once its at idle.
- The idle note is a little old school muscle, probably one of the best ive heard.
- Light load between 1600 - 2200RPM is super deep, maybe some would find it annoying, but seems to settle a bit in 6th.
- Im yet to try it on the freeway at 100-110KM/h
- Ide rate it 9.5/10, it would be perfect if it didnt have the super deep tone at low RPM, but I suspect its the price you pay for the best idle note, IMO, and I wouldn't give that up for anything at this stage. A mate came over yesterday and we were grinning like idiots just listening to the car at idle.

If your Mustang is a daily driver, then maybe the Street series would suit most people better, but if you have other transport and/or you want an exhaust the makes the drive an awesome experience, id go the Comp. At this stage I have no regrets.

When I left the dealership there was a decent crowd behind me, sales, service and customers, the wife tells me the feedback was overwhelmingly positive.

To be frank, even with stock exhaust, I'm a bit worried that my next neighbour might complain.
I live in a 2-storey semi-detached house with a small garage.
When I start my car up in the garage, my wife can feel the rumbles from the room upstairs. It's almost like a small earthquake!!!
I have to keep reminding myself not to start the car until the garage door is up.

Has anyone got Borla S Type yet? I'm planning to install it once my baby arrives (hopefully end of this year). From all the videos I've seen with the volume cranked up, this particular exhaust ticked all the boxes for me. Any thoughts or comments from experience?

I'm starting to toy with a few different ideas -
The Steeda axle-back is about the cheapest thing on the market and it sounds nice.
Not loud enough? Want a deeper tone? Chuck an h pipe at it.
Too loud after that? Chuck some hot dogs into the mix.
It won't net you a power gain (neither will a cat back realistically) but it WILL be much cheaper than importing a full cat back from the states, most of which are going to need modifying (too loud) anyway.
It's just something I thought I might share for those who're genuinely confused by the whole exhaust swap route.
Even the MF street system is still only two mufflers/no resonator.

Had the MF comp CAT back fitted and loved it at first, put a huge smile on my face, and drew mainly positive comments. But after a few weeks it became a bit much. "Around town" it was great, a few unpleasant noises at certain speeds / revs but mostly good. Taking off from start it was fantastic, that note as you pulled away from the lights was unbelievable, just check who is behind you first.

On the highway though is when it became a problem, the final straw was on a drive up and over the mountains to Oberon the noise after a while became irritating. I found myself changing gears to drive around the resonances. It was not what I would call a lot of drone, but at some points the noise in the cabin became too much, it was just loud. One other thing I found was that on down shifts you get an odd pulsing as the revs come down around 2500 rpm and below. Cold start was only a problem for my son, it woke him up every morning but as I am in a semi rural area I don't think it bothered the neighbours too much.

Anyhow after driving around with it for 3500 km's and after much procrastination I had the factory resonator put back in. What a huge difference, the nasty notes are gone, and it has what I could only say is a richer/deeper? sound under load, but it did lower the volume considerably:(

Now it is essentially the same as the MF comp axle back, but has the 3" pipes from the mufflers right up to the resonator. It meant some cutting and welding to join up the pipes that came with the CAT back system to the resonator but nothing an exhaust shop cant handle, or you could do yourself if you have a hoist and the skills.

Occasionally I think that I should have left it how it was, it was a really tough decision to make, but then when I have to spend a few hours driving, I remember why I did it. If it wasn't a daily drive and I didn't have to spend hours driving then it may have stayed, I did love the note.

I hope you keep enjoying it, it was definitely an awesome sound, but there was just too much of it for me.

Appreciate the honest feedback John - I know for my current ride, the 20 mins each way to work I loved the exhaust note...

Went on a couple of 3-4 hour drive days and starting realising it gets quite irritating to be bombarded with a loud exhaust note for that long - its actually physically demanding.

... and that's one of the reasons I've avoided buying any kind of exhaust mod before my Mustang arrives.

I would encourage those who are thinking about a full system to have a listen to the hurricane exhaust. It's sounds awesome on the video I have seen and I am 90% sure it's the way I'm going. I like it because on the Gideon it sounds tough but refined and not to loud. Just waiting for a few more reveiws on it before I call my dealer. Build isn't happening to May anyway but at this stage it's hurricane first, x force second or Borla sport

My SLP Loudmouth2 Axlebacks were same price as the steeda's without the tinnie drone the steeda's have....SLP's are essentially Roush touring
