Nitto's are great for straight line grip. Toyo's IMO are great for handling, had them on my evo, great in the wet too. MPSS (from what I've heard) are great all around.

Aus-MustangGT thanks for confirming the P-Zero's are trash lol

Hey can you do me a favor and check your tire build date when you get a chance? There should be a 4 digit number on it, ending in 15.
Mine were June 2015 from memory

I’m about to purchase the Corsa Sport Catback system after listening to many clips on youtube, I love the sound of it, my understanding stock system is around 74dB and this exhaust would add another 15dB? What are the limits in NSW, I read somewhere it is 90dB for newer cars? So basically this system should be just within the allowed noise limit but installing headers would probably take it over?

Also any issues of a possible defects with the 3" pipe and replacing the resonator for the x-pipe?

A corsa sport will probably take you over the dB level for an exhaust in NSW, however its all about how you drive the car. If you are constantly revving out to 5,500rpm you will probably get pulled over, the exhaust from all accounts is fairly quiet around cruise levels.

If you add headers then yes you will definitely be over the dB limit, also not many companies have created headers compatible with RHD cars yet

Not sure about the actual db rating but I can't imagine any aftermarket exhaust will be within the legal noise level. As long as you're not driving round at WOT all the time and acting like a goose you should be fine.

Really the only defects for exhaust come from noise and if you're rolling around without cats, the pipe configuration is no issue

Thanks for the replies, sounds like it shouldn't be a problem. I'll keep the stock exhaust in storage just in case.

Good call, swapping catbacks is so easy if you get a canary.

When do you get the car? I'm dying to hear how loud the Corsa sport is

LOL is your profile pic the actually plates you ordered?
Yep, I have them at home ready to go. My surname's Murray so marrying that up with the Mustang name was always the direction I was heading in re. plates.

Guys my best mate is a cop and the db level reading is measured a meter from the back of the exhaust on a 45 degree angle revving from idle to 3200rpm. It must not go over 90db. The police sit in the car and do it not you, there is an app that you can down load on your iPhone it's not that accurate but gives you a rough idea on the volume of your exhaust.

Has anyone got access to an accurate dB meter that can check the stock exhaust on a delivered car?

About 5 years ago I drove past a fat cop with a clipboard and pen standing on a traffic island at the intersection of Flinders and King St's here in Melbourne. I was literally cruising slowly in my fully stock 2001 Stang. Sure enough, a couple of weeks later I receive a notice to have the car's noise checked at one of a list of approved exhaust shops. If it wasn't done, and the results returned satisfying reg's within the allotted time my car was to be deemed unroadworthy.

"Shitty" doesn't quite cover how I felt when I received the note. I booked my car in for the required check, at a place near home here in Melbourne, and watched everything the guy did on the day like a hawk. The bloke seemed most sympathetic, noting that stock Maseratis, Ferraris and Lambo's are far far noisier than my Mustang was stock.

The dB meter was setup exactly as you've described but no police were required. The guy educated me on what does and doesn't fly re. regulations. He tested it at idle (no prob's) then at rev's (just over the legal limit) but he wrote the figures down right at the limit so I'd pass.

I left there wondering what the hell happened to fun and how the hell do those cars above get away with it straight from the factory if mine didn't?
