I'm after a deep throaty sound but cannot have any drone when cruising at 60,70, 80 or 100.

It will be a daily driver. I read the entire thread and have listened to loads of sound clips but would appreciate any recommendations from the forum.
Mangaflow street is the answer mate. That is exactly what I was looking for and mine is also a daily driver. I also have to get up at 4am and I've had no complaints from my neighbours.

Thanks for your great feedback everyone. This forum is a wealth of knowledge and no shortage of members who provide valuable advice, which is much appreciated.
Burkey, special thanks for loading a video of your beast - it sound awesome!

Fred, I appreciate your offer on the Borla. It sounds great from the clips I've seen & heard.
But my heart says to follow the advice of Burkey and dreabc and pull the trigger on the Magnaflow Competition axle backs, so I hope I'm making the right choice.
Whilst way more expensive than the JBA's, I was looking at the Magnaflows right from the start, as these will give that deep muscle car sound with no rasp, but the possibility of drone was my biggest concern.
Whilst there may be a little, I can live with that as mine is not a daily driver.
Cheers!
Thanks Alzy. Mate, you won't be disappointed.
But, a word of warning. You'll giggle pretty hard the first time you start her up, me and all the blokes present at the time when I did mine certainly did. I suggest you get someone to video your reaction...
It really is THAT good.

I was, but I got a great price on this bit of kit that I couldn't ignore. Hopefully it won't be too loud as a DD, but if it gets a bit much Joel said he can put in a couple of resonators to quieten it down a little.

Hi mate have a street version in a box waiting to happen. Just a few questions are you getting any drone and would you recommend it on a trip say from Sydney to Adelaide.

Hey no probs Alzy I would also recommend maybe coming along to the All Ford day in Geelong in a couple of weeks. We will have a range of cars around with the Borla systems and also Magnaflows. Good place to have a listen rather than on videos. Will also be showcasing the Project 6GR wheels on some cars. Cheers Fred

To be honest, there may be a bit of drone although I can't hear it (I do have old ears though). It has definitely quietened down since installation, and gotten a little deeper in sound. I haven't driven it much on freeways since installation, but I wouldn't have a problem with it.

I drive it to work every day into the CBD, and love it.

Hi All,

Does anyone have the borla touring installed in Perrh or surrounding suburbs that I could arrange a listen too?

I have the solo Mach xv installed at the minute but not too sure if im liking it to be honest and thinking i may have made the wrong choice. The videos don't seem to help. The solo seems to be intrusive inside although I don't mind the sound outside. that could just as well be the lack of any actual sound deadening in this car also.

^^ have you removed the sound tube as I've heard this can help with cabin noise

Yep removed that but would say the difference is minimal. I'm thinking of removing the exhaust all together unless this dynamat I'm going to try makes a difference. I'm a bit disappointed at the minute everybody else seems happy with it though  I've only had it on say 400km don't know if this makes any difference?

If it was a couple of decibel lower I would say it would be more liveable.

I'm going to suggest that complete removal of the exhaust might make it a little louder than it is currently...
What exactly is the issue? Too loud or just too droney?

The solo needs some time to break in. Also you can adjust the J-pipes to cancel out the drone, that's really the point of difference with the solo exhausts.

The sound insulation in this car is really quite excellent tbh

Thanks for your reply's, It may just need to break in a little more. I don't think its a drone or loudness, its hard to describe really more a low frequency noise that's kinda not playing well with my ears at the moment. Best give it some time first though

The description sounds like drone. I'd give it till 1000kms and see if it mellows out a bit.

If not, I believe adjusting the j pipe moves that drone zone up/down the rev range, so you can get rid of it completely. Worth playing around with it, definitely take measurements though and write it down so you know where it works best for you.

Hi all

Long time lurker (well about a month!), first time poster here.

I got a call from my dealer that my GT will land at the end of March and be delivered in April, quite a bit earlier than expected as I only ordered last May.

So now I'm thinking about choosing an exhaust and would love some guidance from here if possible.

I'm after a deep throaty sound but cannot have any drone when cruising at 60,70, 80 or 100.

It will be a daily driver. I read the entire thread and have listened to loads of sound clips but would appreciate any recommendations from the forum.

Thanks in advance!

Jim

Hi Jim

We distribute BORLA Exhaust Systems, Vogtland Springs, Vogtland Coilovers and Project 6GR Wheels so give me a call if you would like to hear a Borla system in real life and I can take you for a run in our Mustang GT so that you can make an informed decision on the sound both inside the car and outside.

BORLA Systems give you ZERO drone and we carry the full range for the S550 Mustang. EU Touring, Touring, 'S' Type and ATAK. 2.5" and 3.0". They are also available in Chrome Tip and Black Tip.
They are made from US Grade 304 Stainless and are Made in The USA unlike many other brands.

You can also get to see how the car looks and rides on Vogtland Springs. We are located in Moorabbin. Call me on 03 9553 6915. Cheers Fred
