Very Keen to hear how your tune go's, I only run ulp 98 in my cars. My VF Redline has a Over the radiator cold air intake, full dyno tune and went from 260kw to 335kw....great gain for the spend...
And full exhaust I hope. Otherwise they're telling you porkies

ARH H-Pipe Catback, JLT CAI, Reische Thermostat for now and GT350 Intake Manifold later (to be ordered when the exchange rates get better, no rush). Won't install the last mod till around the 8 to 10,000KM mark.

solid for OTR & tune! my VE was 262rwkw (350rwhp-ish) OTR full exhaust & tune.

US stangs are up around 400-420rwhp for the same mods

it would be good to get a dB reading of the stock exhaust, even just a phone app one for a reference point to compare aftermarket exhausts

for example Corsa reckon the sport catback is 15 db over stock and xtreme is 24
Hi, I have attached an excerpt from the Australian Green Vehicle Guide. It shows the V8 GT at 85 & 87dB. Interesting that the auto is noisier than the manual!!!

I managed to grab a sound meter from work to do a stationary test per the second attachment on my car with the Corsa Sport catback fitted. At 3,900rpm (as suggested) I recorded a max dB of 100.7.

So sorry to say that it is way over the max allowable, but does support Corsa's figures of 15dB increase over stock.

I won't be changing my exhaust unless I get a lot of grief. But unless I drive like a maniac, hopefully the 'boys in blue' will leave me alone!

Thanks aussierob. Yeah I thought the 74 stock sounded too low.

Very interesting that the sport was over 100 - measured from 45 degrees at a distance of 1 meter?

.....I still want the xtreme Yuvraj

45 degrees and 500mm. (per 4.1 of the test procedure for all vehicles except pre ADR83)

I would have loved the extreme as well, but you would be able to hear the car from 3 suburbs away!

I think in most cases your driving habits and attitude have alot to do with it, unless you are being an idiot, or actually doing laps around the same area I think most cops will leave you alone.... Maybe stop you for a chat to test that attitude out ;)

But every so often there will be a cop who has a chip on their shoulder, who either hates life or feels they shouldhave been harsher on the stop previous to yours, and needs to get some ego back, they will probably hastle you regardless.... Unfortunately thats the way it goes sometimes.

When you say 'borrowed a db meter' is this like a standard meter that would be used by most exhaust testing places if say you were required to have yours tested?

Hopefully the frpp sport is a little quieter than the corsa!

Hi mustangdownunder,

I used a digital sound level meter. Not a high end instrument, however it is calibrated annually and checked from 70-130dB. I work in Aviation so all of our test equipment has very stringent standards!

Cheers,

Rob

Roush Axle Back

I'm off to the States for work next week, and even though I have no idea when my car will arrive (August 15 order) I figure I should start building up the toys I know I will want to get.

I did a bit (not a lot) of research, and decided, for now, that the Roush Axle Back would be enough for me for now ( a resonator delete is always the next option)

I'm buying it from CJPONYPARTS
http://www.cjponyparts.com/roush-axle-back-exhaust-stainless-steel-gt-2015-2016/p/CBR19/..and having it shipped to my hotel where I will hope to pack it into two large suitcases...no shipping costs, or import duties.

I have also hired a V8 GT 2015 for a few days to relive my last trip and why I have ordered this car!

FWIW, I'm giving a +1 for the Magnaflow axle back that Phil / Race Red GT has on his... nice low growl, sounds quiet enough at idle/low speed and gives a great sound with a couple of revs.

I'm trying to work out how I can get a video online to post here :)
Edit: can you see this?
