I was more wanting Ford to get the OEM light maker to do a run of red ones for Australia and any other country that supports red tails that turn to Amber for indicator. I have an Alfa that does it and follow lots of Audi and VW etc cars that have red tail lights that are plenty amber on turns. They must be legal as they are on the roads here as new cars. I understand it's easier to make a one size fits all to get to market faster but they could use the same case from the US car with a LED package in the outside bar that supports both red and amber. I don't think they expected the numbers we have ordered but now we do they could surely do a run of the real Mustang lights for us. Come on Ford Australia, listen to your customers and make it happen.

Especially since they have to do production runs in cycles.. US..EU...UK...AUS/NZ

They already have shown by the seat options, custom pack for EU/UK that each production run has differences, so add options in for AUS/NZ, the biggest so far of these new markets.

Hi FrozenPea,

His lights look very interesting. I really want damn sequential lights! Can you give us some details on what you are have ordered?
Sure thing. They arrived today and look great (in the box lol)! My pile of mods to americanize the car is continuing to grow. The guys at work keep seeing Ford boxes roll in and I keep joking that i'm building the car piece by piece. :p

Cannigia has made his pricing public on this forum before so I'm sure he won't mind me doing this. I think I was his first Australian customer so he might charge a little more or less now that he's done it once. All prices are in USD.

I purchased new tail lights from Levittown Ford Super Center:

FR3Z-13404-A TAIL LAMP ASSY, RIGHT $660.20
FR3Z-13405-A TAIL LAMP ASSY, LEFT $660.20
Domestic shipping to Chicago $24.88

(You could also pick up some pre-loved lights on eBay if you don't mind scratches or chips and save a couple hundred bucks.)

I then contacted cannigia to organize the deal and have them shipped to him in Poland. He has an arrangement with a freight forwarder that will do this, so you can have the lights shipped directly to them in Chicago.

He offered 2 options:

#1) Install amber LEDs, no sequential mod (ie. euro spec, but inside the red lens) $470
#2) Install amber LEDs + sequential mod with option to switch sequential on/off $600

I really went in just wanting the red lenses, but option 2 was appealing and too hard to refuse.

+ $20 for cable pack (i think this is to make it plug & play?)

Shipping from Poland to Australia $150

So... not super cheap, but I really really really wanted the red lenses :D

Thanks for that, and all the details. Whoa, it does add up to a lot, especially when you think Ford could / should basically do it for free. Going to have think long and hard about how much I want those sequential lamps!

Davo, you realise it wasn't Fords decision to not include sequentials here? It is against our laws to have indicators that perform like the US ones.

In fact because of our laws it probably affected EU and UK!

I've been following the discussions and the conflicting advice on the forums, and can't make any sense of the ADRs.

Do we have a definite answer about the sequential lights?

Do you think the following might be legal:
- sequential red brake light: depress the brake, sequential lights starting from the inside out BUT must stay lit, i.e. ONE sequential sequence and then stay all on;
- sequential orange indicators, repeating sequence as long as the indicator is on.

Indicator stalk on the right hand side !
I'd given up on this hope but looking at pages 47 and 48 clearly show wiper stalks made for the left hand side of the wheel.

Page 52 has this interesting comment;

DIRECTION INDICATORS
Note: The lever arrangement is lateralized in the vehicles with Lane keeping system.

What does this mean?

Then the pic on next page shows a right hand side indicator stalk.

It would be very surprising given the UK has the US arrangement, but let's hope.

The bottom of each page makes reference to vehicles built from 13/7/2015. Significant?
Note 'correct' date order.

There is nothing that states the brake light working as above is not allowed. its just that the light must stay on.
The indiciators though, if more than one indicator lamp, they must flash at the same time.

Adding to this ... that would mean even one brake light turning off to act as an indicator can be deemed illigal. I know the options being offered and I know insurance companies. A person runs up the back because you brake then indicate.... "their most outer brake light went off, so I thought they had stopped braking" Yep, you just might well be paying for a rear end collision.

I'm having a read through and it's interesting that the words "hood" and "bonnet" are used interchangeably, as are "trunk" and "boot"

Personally I'm already used to indicators on the left as I'm sure a large number of UK drivers are. My last 2 cars have had this including manual models

Also, the air conditioning section still seems to imply the driver sits on the left

Inconsitencies like that are not acceptable to any company, it's just another example of Ford quickly doing something and not following through with standard copywrite process.

I'm not too concerned yet, this may be an early draft that hasn't been finalised and is dated July. There is a good possibility there is a revised version that ships with the car but the link hasn't been updated

Agreed if that was just the pdf, but if it was the online version, that is supposed to be the most current version.

I think the online version is consistent with "Hood" - but looking at the URL...

marketCode=US&languageCode=EN

Unfortunately marketCode=AU doesn't exist neither does UK

Interestingly the dashboard is for RHD

It is clearly for AU, not US. Firstly kms not miles is used and it has detail on the active bonnet.

Secondly, its accessed via fords au site

It's almost an exact copy of the UK manual, that has been available online for around 3 months.
