Nope. You're spending a lot of money to basically get bupkis. Fixing the pathologically bad ECU tune is the only mod that's actually worth anything.

Sweet ride. Good to see guys making the most of a great engine. I do miss that startup growl every morning in the garage.

Still an improvement over stock, especially for my bud whose never tuned before

Wait, just that much? Thought it'd be more?
No, he's definitely wrong. If you do all that you'll be around 300-320 whp which is over the crank horsepower that our cars come with stock...so a 15-20% improvement in power really. With just the tune you'll be more around 280-290 mark optimistically (at that point he is slightly right, 5-10% improvement from the additional mods).

Mods that have definitely been "worth something" for me: tune, cat delete, gears. I did the ported throttle body before the tune so I can't really comment on the "worth it"-meter for that.

Think my friends end goal as he said is 480ish hp, basically GT lvl's, so eventually Forced Induction down the line, though those mods are a good start.

Remind me, does a V6 have two sets of cats or just one?

Your friend is delusional. A car with basically all the same mods made 300RWHP.

Sorry, I was wrong about the 3-5%. 15% seems to be the cluster of datapoints. You're looking at about $50/HP.

You missed the part where he said:

"Think my friends end goal as he said is 480ish hp, basically GT lvl's, so eventually Forced Induction down the line, though those mods are a good start."

So he was saying that's the goal with boost. And as we know that is an easily attainable goal with Forced Induction.

I just downgraded, due to covid-19, to a 13 3.7 Cyclone motor. Ported and tune is the best results for sure.

First time posting here, thought I should share my set up. The first thing that was done to it was swap the exhaust with a GT and add an H-pipe. It's the best daily I've had, definitely beats my corolla. I plan on doing headers and TB soon, what would you guys recommend? Please share any ideas or just post your set up.

Get an intake, tune, and full exhaust. That will really wake up the car. I can get you taken care of on anything you need here from www.lethalperfomance.com

Do you think there will continue to be exhaust, engine, upgrades for our V6 engines and S550’s? Ive looked at other performance shops and it seems like they’re carrying less and less for our cars. I’ve been upgrading my car over the last 5 years little by little and after I get tires in the spring, I want to do some power upgrades like exhaust, Intake, headers. I’m not sure about a tune though as I have a warranty to 120k miles and like 5 years. I do want an increase that’s street legal. I just can’t afford to throw several thousand dollars at once to get there. So it will take a couple of years. Thoughts?

GT exhaust is "free". Replace the hideous brakes with 4-pots off a GT or EB/PP - around 3-400. Or spend a little more and go 6-pot.

Toss the suspension and fix the chassis.

The V6 engine is a slow-revving lump and the only useful mod is a tune from eg. Unleashed Tuning. Wakes the motor right up - no more lethargy nor god-awful rev-hang! If you don't replace the Ford tune you're just lighting $100 bills on fire for no effect.
