I been collecting parts for my build and recently started learning about MoTec.
I’ll be running a raceported 3.8 whipple (already in my garage), id17000, ARH Long Tubes, FORE triple pumps, livernoise heat exchanger, half shafts, and possibly a trunk mounted ice tank plus some 18”sv703 beadlocks with nitto 555r2s with the CF front wheels
My 99% plan is to run the smallest pulley possible with pump gas (~3.75”) most the time. My goal is a simple 850-900 at the wheels on pump gas, but I have ethanol all around me so it may make 1k when running ethanol. If I swap the pulley for the drag strip, it’s game on. I realize this HP is obtainable for way less cash, but I’m building this car right and cooling is super important to me. Plus I can and will turn it up from time to time. Lethal and PBD are in the 8s with this combo.
The MoTec gives me true flex fuel so I can put in whatever, which I feel is important for a street car and it also provides superior traction control to make all that power usable. Plus all the safety features would increase the engine survival rate from a hung injector (Steven Nestor), knock or any lean conditions/heat (stagmode). The 10k upfront sure seems cheaper than replacing the engine.
Just looking for input from those that have experienced it.
