they keep pushing that bad boy further and further back.
It's because they over-promised on its functionality. Like using voice commands to Tweet and such. They should have kept it simple and then once they got it right, make a 2.0 with additional features.

They have. I ordered well over a year ago. They are supposed to be shipping in January. We will see.

I don't think its a gimmick at all, I think its a very legitimate safety feature that should be implemented and should give a small discount on insurance.

I feel anything that keeps your eyes on the road ahead of you is much safer than not. But that's just me thinking it has actual use other than looking cool.

On topic, I haven't seen anything aftermarket that doesn't look like a$$, which is too bad because I have money for them when they get it right.

I hope there is some mind of retro fit into the active cruise control indicator in the dash. Mustang's with active cruise control has a strip of LED on top of the dash to warn the driver.
Would be nice to show speed and RPM or at least RPM.

On the GT350 the did exactly that. Just changed the code (and LED colors) to turn the parking sensor into a HUD shift indicator. Would be nice to see that offered on the standard car whenever they do their refresh.

A real HUD would be awesome as well. I would definitely add it as an option if it was available.

Are you just bumping all the HUD topics? Why not make a new one?

Instead of a HUD, I'm thinking about this:

http://arstechnica.com/cars/2016/09/the-waylens-horizon-is-a-dashcam-for-the-driving-enthusiast/

Much cleaner, and serves several purposes. Just, expensive...
This was discussed on another thread, and most people said its "great for boy racers" who can upload to FB straight away

The Thinkware F750 makes it easy to save your video's
upload to your phone, so can do while you are in the car, or when you have a pc take the card out and plug into the PC open the Thinkware viewer and you get speed and a map and easy to save

You'll have to elaborate on what a "boy racer" is...

Comparing the two, it seems that the Waylens is a far superior design, while also providing a HUD with its display. Which, can be configured to display many different gauges.

Honda Civic guys with coffee can mufflers, is my interpretation.
I was taking it as either that or as a street racer.

I run on street, strip, and track. This would be a valuable tool with its telemetric and OBD logging capabilities.

I want one that shows what gear you are in. It's too hard check the dash when you're going through the mountains and the gears. Beyond that, RPM & MPH and I'm good.

Good luck since I don't think that there is a sensor on the car to tell you that, unless you have an auto trans.
