I'd have bought one, and been happy with it, but circumstances changed and the V8 was achievable (which ticked another lifetime box).

EB is a Mustang. As Kristian87 says, it fits the ethos well, and it's made in America at Flat Rock. Is it less of a Mustang than a S197 V6 which had a German engine and a French gearbox (or the other way round)? Nope, both Mustangs.

On this forum it seems quite a few GT owners sell their cars and walk away from the Ford Mustang experience.
Ecoboost owners tend to keep theirs and if they sell it's to buy a GT.

I'm not sure what this tells us.

The other thing I've noticed is that quite a few owners (inc EB) have kept their old cars or run two (or more) cars.

Not sure what this tells us either!

Let me get a stencil made up first ;)! I'll post something tomorrow or so once i've stenciled and cutting out, i'll work out a price as the piece is small and fiddly.

Enoch £5 went into the dogs collection tin instead ;)!

That ecoboost owners are loyal owners, and v8 owners are traitors ;)?:lol::lol:

Manders you finally got Tune+ then? Good work, he's one of the best tuners.

I have stock dyno results; I got 260whp (270Nm) - at wheels.

I'm happy with mine, I've got an extensive list of mods (Below i'll go into detail).

I'll be unbias here, and not everyone's going to like what I have to say, but it's based at least on my 'feels' towards it.

I've driven multiple V8's. To be exact 4. And i've not really enjoyed either as much as my EB, however, the sound of them is insane and can't be replicated. I've got the sound in my EB up to a point that I like and can deal with, it's loud, it's got a decent burble, but it's not a v8, and that's for sure, but, I like where mine sounds, for what it 'is'

The EB after living with a V8 for a few days, is a better daily driver. It's lighter, noticeably, and has what feels like more "push" due to being forced induction it also "feels" faster. Those words, Push and feel, are subjective, it isn't faster. The v8 needs to sit over 4400 RPM to feel fast. The V8 feels heavy on the roads and having driven both, you can really tell it's heavier on the front end.

Both cars are a nightmare as any RWD car is, to live with if driven incorrectly. The tyres are by far the worst things ever, they don't grip, and they'll punish you if you decide to get cocky. Michelin Pilot super sports or Michelin Pilot Sport 4S will be the best solution to this issue.

From stock, the EB sounds rubbish, but arguably (and this may be because I've been spoilt by meets with modded V8s) it's nothing special either in the sound department. Regardless of which you chose, you'll "need" an exhaust on it. Whatever you decide is your choice, always will be and always remember that the car is yours and nobody else's :).

Onto mine:

I've obviously had the mods listed below installed, however only some of these are the power adders/enablers.
Those are:
ETS Intercooler (The stock one is rubbish, do 3 dyno runs and you'll see how bad heat soak hits these cars, the stock IC is tiny, and quite frankly, pretty damn useless).
Cobb 3" high flow catted downpipe (MODDED to fit rhd - this as it comes, DOESN'T fit a RHD car)
Airraid Modular Intake Tube (MIT), a wider intake tube, more air into the turbo!
Turbosmart (TUNE+) wastegate actuator
Magnaflow Competition Catback
K&N panel filter
velossa tech big mouth ram air intake
Denso ITV22 iridium 1 step colder (pre gapped to .028) from tune+ (stock plugs had a variance of 0.2 between highest and lowest gapped plugs, causing irregular firing patterns and in other cases misfires.
and the thing to set all of these alight, TUNE+ tuned.

Other bits and bobs that were performance related
Rotiform R122 SPF alloys 19x10 square setup. Lighter alloys, obviously less rotational mass wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres - 275/40/19 on all 4 corners for the extra grip
Pedders XA xtreme coilovers
Steeda IRS bushing and insert kit
and at a stretch, US spec heat extractor vents (you know, less heat and all that in the engine bay)

I've been dyno'd to make c360 BHP (engine) and c400lb ft of torque. Now, that's without a baseline figure on a dyno (maha 2) but that dyno lists the V8 to make its list (410), that also said, the stock Eb has NEVER made list figure (310uk 317us) on ANY DYNO, so in terms of mods 'adding' power I'm not sure what it's done, but a friend will be running the same dyno I used on a stock (just exhaust) EB, and we'll see what power it makes, and then i can pass a comment on that.

Any questions about the car etc, shoot them over. I've now got 13.5k on mine. I've also got a few little mods to go on, but really she's pretty finished.

edit, fleeting point, would I have one if my insurance would have allowed me to have a V8? probably not. Would I have had second thoughts having driven both, definitely. I test drove the EB in the US before buying (second batch in the UK), and to quote my parents who were with me "there was no way you weren't getting that car after driving it" I landed back from Florida a few days later, and immediately had my deposit down (it would have taken something pretty monumental for me to say no to it!)

Just replied to your PM, yeah I've had my Tune+ tune for a few months now, it's great.

Dyno figures are a bit iffy, because, different Dynos read different numbers. The same Dyno I used, we ran a stocker on it ran 275 engine and 285 torque. I ran 360 and 400 respectively.

SpArKy Just to keep you in the loop, I've made some templates for the puddle lamp covers, £10 a set - if you paypal to [email protected] with your address and I'll ping you over a set. They're a full cover to avoid water ingress. Don't technically need a heat gun on them as I've pre cut a fold in them to fit into the recess, however, If you want it to be super neat, then you'll need. Same goes for anyone else reading it who wants a set :) I generally keep my fb group Manders Mustang updated with these updates and what not so totally fogot to put it in here!

I've just got another roll of tint film, so if anyone wants a set of red (or another colour as I've spoke to the guys who make it and we can use the same compound with a different dye) then drop me a PM. (£30 delivered)

Am i happy with the EB? Yes. Would I buy another? Possibly.

It's cheaper to run than a GT but still has the same inconveniences, skittish in the wet, pain to park, visibility is poor (which is standard for a Coupe).

I probably won't buy another new car again and in likelihood he EB will be traded in for the main family car. I'll be on the lookout for a GT when they are cheap enough for me to justify as a second/summer car.
