Anyone get an occasional rough idle when the car is hot and on e85?

Battery Management System fixed my buddy's random (usually when warm) rough start and odd performance loss randomly on E85. He put in a new AGM Battery, deleted it, reloaded the file and its never happened again fyi. Caused throttle closures, weird cam timing, etc.

The battery or charging system may be an indicator. Mine is at 12.5 rn isn’t it supposed to be at 14+

EDIT: just looked into the Battery Managment system you mentioned and did a disconnect of the system. Idle seems stronger and more consistent. Hopefully it fixes my issues

Dont forget to replace the battery. My battery was on its way out, meaning the BMS was doing its job but its job causes fucked up side effects. Disconnect the BMS, add new battery, move ahead. Totally fixed all my issues. BMS alone did it but I did swap a new battery since i knew the old one was done. Used to get stumbles every 2-3 starts, but not a single one in 40+ now.

I’ll have ford test it when I bring it in for an oil change next week. I’ll Also make them aware of the issue I was having just in case as well

Mine tested fine but Lund logged major voltage drops (from 14ish down to bottom 12's). New AGM never goes below 13.9 fyi.

Ok so my car ran better with the stupid battery management unplugged but my fuel trims were still out of wack and cam position would move randomly. Put the car back to stock and will be bringing it into the dealer tomorrow

Bet you a dollar you may need new intake cam phasers. Especially if the idle is going rough and stalling. Good luck Man.

Lol most likely. That’s what Trevor at pbd said after looking at the logs.

I had mine replaced and that did nothing, for me anyway (may have been exhaust cam phasers i dont remember). Still have the idle go rough but no stalling on my e85 tune since idle raised to 750
